Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's working trip to Brazil, his participation in the G20 Summit, and his official visit to the Dominican Republic were a great success.
According to the VNA Special Envoy, in the early morning of November 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, arrived at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, successfully concluding their trip to attend the G20 Summit and work in Brazil, as well as their official visit to the Dominican Republic.
Attending all the main activities within the framework of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Prime Minister delivered important speeches at the discussion sessions on "the fight against poverty" and "sustainable development and energy transition."
On the occasion of the Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held bilateral meetings with more than 30 leaders of countries and international organizations attending the Summit, thereby contributing to the overall success of the G20 Summit; promoting Vietnam's relations with countries and international organizations; and clearly portraying Vietnam as dynamic, open, "a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community."
In addition to attending the G20 Summit, during his second working visit to Brazil in over a year, the Prime Minister had a wealth of activities in Rio de Janeiro, including: talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the issuance of a Vietnam-Brazil Joint Statement on upgrading bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership; attending the inauguration ceremony of a commemorative plaque for President Ho Chi Minh in Rio de Janeiro; participating in the Vietnam Day program in Brazil; attending the Vietnam-Brazil Business Forum and working with leading Brazilian businesses; and meeting with the Vietnamese community in Brazil…
Notably, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made a historic visit to the Dominican Republic, becoming the first high-ranking Vietnamese leader to visit the country after nearly 20 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
The Prime Minister held talks and meetings with the President, the President of the Senate, and the President of the House of Representatives of the Dominican Republic; received leaders of Dominican political parties; attended the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Ho Chi Minh Monument in the capital Santo Domingo; attended the Vietnam-Dominicana Business Forum; and delivered a policy speech at the Academy of Advanced Education for Diplomatic and Consular Training of the Dominican Republic.
The two sides adopted a Joint Statement affirming the determination of the two Governments and announcing the directions and measures agreed upon to further strengthen the solidarity, friendship, and good cooperation between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic in the future; and agreed to promote the elevation of Vietnam-Dominicana relations to a new level.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working visit to Brazil, his participation in the G20 Summit, and his official visit to the Dominican Republic were a resounding success; demonstrating Vietnam's role, prestige, and responsible contributions to global issues, while also creating new momentum for further strengthening bilateral relations between Vietnam and Brazil, and between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic.
