The Tes Awards for International Schools recognizes schools and educators who have contributed to the transformation of global education through knowledge, dedication, and continuous innovation. The awards are a continuation of the Tes Schools Awards system from the United Kingdom – often dubbed the "Oscars of education," with its prestige stemming from an independent and rigorous selection process.

The Tes Awards for International Schools attract entries from outstanding international schools across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. From that shortlist, only 13 schools, representing a new global standard of education, are selected to receive the award.

With its interdisciplinary project “Happy Sharing, Happy Learning,” Wellspring Hanoi International Bilingual School has just been named the winner of the “Teaching Initiative of the Year” category at the Tes Awards for International Schools 2025.

This is a student-led educational model that empowers students to take ownership of their own learning goals. The project helps students move beyond theoretical frameworks, apply academic knowledge to solve real-world problems, develop critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills, and most importantly, foster compassion and social responsibility.

The project is highly sustainable as the school maintains cooperation with local authorities, expands the scope of support, and integrates this activity into the curriculum.

The Tes Awards council assessed that the project made a distinctive mark through its student-led learning approach and delivered a profound positive impact on the community. Through designing and implementing a program that combined academic and community-oriented learning, the students created practical value, contributing to a change in perception regarding the role of education and fostering sustainable transformation beyond their own classrooms.

Ms. Nguyen Viet Linh, Deputy Principal of Wellspring Secondary School, said that the "Happy Sharing, Happy Learning" project is just one of hundreds of creative teaching projects that the school implements every school year. At the school, learning is not just about knowledge but also about sharing, giving, and creating real value for the community.

This award at the Tes Awards is a milestone affirming the position of Vietnamese education in the future educational trends. With recognition from the Tes Award, Vietnam continues to be a shining example of educational innovation in the Asia- Pacific region, creating a positive precedent to affirm that Vietnamese high schools can fully pioneer new educational trends – not only integrating but also confidently leading change.
