On the afternoon of June 25, starting the official visit to China and attending the World Economic Forum (WEF), right after arriving in Beijing, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.
Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai reported to the Prime Minister on the Embassy's activities in advising the Party and State, implementing economic and cultural diplomacy tasks, especially removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting Vietnam-China trade to achieve many positive results, and working with overseas Vietnamese, contributing to connecting and supporting compatriots in difficult times.
Expressing their joy at welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to officially visit China and attend the World Economic Forum, the overseas Vietnamese representative believed that the working trip would be a great success with important and specific results, continuing to affirm Vietnam's position in the international arena; expressing their joy at the great achievements the country has achieved in recent times, believing in the strong development and increasingly bright future of the country in the coming period under the leadership of the Party, the management of the State, the direction and administration of the Government and the Prime Minister.
At the meeting, delegates also made a number of proposals and recommendations to continue developing the Vietnamese community in China, promoting the country's image, helping overseas Vietnamese to best develop their abilities, and contribute more to the country and to the Vietnam-China relationship.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the Embassy for its careful preparation for the Vietnamese delegation's visit this time. This is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's first official visit to China as Prime Minister and also the first visit to China by a Vietnamese Prime Minister since 2016.
According to the Prime Minister, China is a large country, a neighboring country with a common border, "mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers", a traditional socialist friend and has close relations with Vietnam. The consistent policy of our Party and State is to always attach importance to maintaining and developing friendly and cooperative relations with the Party, State and people of China.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the visit aims to continue to concretize and implement the agreements and results achieved during the historic and very successful visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in October 2022. Relations between the two countries are generally better after the General Secretary's visit. Having gone through many ups and downs and breakthroughs, the Vietnam-China relationship is very good and we have the responsibility to promote this relationship even better.
During this visit, the Prime Minister will hold talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. This is an important occasion for the two sides to review the results of cooperation achieved in the past time, propose directions and tasks to consolidate and develop friendly and cooperative relations in the coming time, especially measures to expand and improve the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields, promote the removal of obstacles in cooperation, on the basis of sincerity, trust, efficiency and the spirit of "4 goods" - "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners".
Also at the meeting, the Prime Minister informed the people about the domestic situation with positive results in socio-economic recovery and development thanks to controlling the epidemic with the right vaccine strategy, shifting to safe and flexible adaptation, effectively controlling the epidemic in a timely and appropriate manner, and soon reopening the economy.
The Prime Minister affirmed that these achievements were thanks to the drastic participation of the entire political system under the leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, directly and regularly led by the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the support and active participation of the people, the business community, overseas Vietnamese, including the Vietnamese community in China, and the help of international friends.
The Prime Minister also informed the people about the domestic situation with positive results in socio-economic recovery and development.
The Prime Minister emphasized that China is one of the countries that provides the most and fastest vaccines to Vietnam; up to now, it has provided Vietnam with more than 50 million doses of vaccines, including 7.3 million doses of non-refundable aid and 45 million doses of commercial sale, especially nearly 40 million doses in a very short time before October 10, 2021.
The Prime Minister expressed his sympathy for the difficulties and losses of overseas Vietnamese during the COVID-19 pandemic; expressed his joy and appreciation for the efforts of overseas Vietnamese in the past time in uniting, promoting the tradition of "mutual love", helping each other overcome many difficulties during the pandemic; commended and recognized the overseas Vietnamese for their active contributions to the country, especially in disease prevention and socio-economic recovery and development. These are traditional and precious features of our Vietnamese people no matter where they are in the world.
The Prime Minister conveyed the warm sentiments of the Party and State leaders to overseas Vietnamese and emphasized that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community, including the Vietnamese community in China, as an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, one of the driving forces and sources of strength for the country's development. The country's development achievements today all have important contributions from the community of more than 5.3 million Vietnamese people in more than 130 countries around the world, including the community in China.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized that there will be many difficulties and challenges, hoping that the Vietnamese community in China will continue to promote the spirit of mutual love, uphold national pride, solidarity, help each other overcome difficulties; strive to rise up, actively integrate, comply with the law and contribute to the development of the host country; increasingly promote the important role of a bridge for the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China. At the same time, always turn towards the homeland and the country; proactively make more practical and effective contributions to the cause of national construction and development.
The Prime Minister said that the National Assembly has just passed the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam with many new regulations. The Party and State always try to determine the legal status of Vietnamese people abroad so that they can live, study and work legally and conveniently. During this visit, the Prime Minister will ask the Chinese side to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, work, reside and actively integrate into the host society.
The Prime Minister shared and acknowledged some of the people's thoughts, aspirations, and proposals and will assign relevant ministries, branches, and agencies to focus on synthesizing, researching, and soon having appropriate solutions in a timely and thorough spirit.
The Prime Minister requested that in the coming time, the Embassy continue to perform well its foreign affairs tasks, carefully study and grasp the local situation, be sensitive, flexible, creative, grasp information and opportunities to have initiatives, recommendations, and timely advice for the Party, State and Government in continuing to promote the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam - China relations; at the same time, continue to do well in community work and citizen protection in the spirit of Resolution 36 of the Politburo and Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese in the new situation...
