According to the report, Huoi Luong Border Guard Station manages a border section of more than 13 km long, with 9 landmarks, 15 markers, a large area with over 7,000 people, including 4 ethnic groups: Mong, Dao, Ha Nhi and Kinh living in 21 villages scattered on high mountain slopes.

During the 43 years of construction, fighting and growth (established in March 1980), Huoi Luong Border Guard Station has always completed all tasks excellently, and has been highly appreciated by local Party committees, authorities and people in the border area, contributing to consolidating and tightening the solidarity between the army and the people, building a solid people's heart and mind position in the border area.

The station has done a good job of managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and border security; coordinated timely and effectively handling issues and events related to borders and territorial sovereignty, avoiding passivity and surprise; fought to prevent and combat crimes and law violations with many results; been creative in border diplomacy, had good relations with the authorities, functional forces and local people of neighboring countries; taken the lead in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue; actively participated in building a strong grassroots political system in border areas; had models of socio-economic development, helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty...

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that he had visited and worked with the Border Guard force many times and sympathized with them about the difficulties, being stationed in harsh places, far from their families, and carrying out heavy tasks in poor conditions. They always thoroughly understood and performed well the functions and tasks of the Army as "a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army".

The Prime Minister emphasized that the management and protection of national borders is of special importance to the territorial integrity and national sovereignty, contributing to maintaining political stability, socio-economic development, and strengthening national defense and security. In particular, the Border Guard is the core force, specializing in managing and protecting national borders; implementing state management of defense, security, foreign affairs and maintaining security, order and safety in border areas and border gates.

Over the past time, the Border Guard force has successfully completed the task of managing and protecting the border, contributing to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and border security; effectively combating criminal activities and law violations; well managing immigration and exit activities, promoting administrative procedure reform; actively participating in resolving difficulties and obstacles in customs clearance, facilitating import and export.

The Prime Minister assessed Lai Chau as a locality with an important position in terms of national defense and security, with over 265 km of border and 02 border gates with China; commended and highly appreciated the contributions, dedication and sacrifices of Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard in general and Huoi Luong Border Guard Station in particular in the past time.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard and Huoi Luong Border Guard Station to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels.

The Prime Minister emphasized the important tasks for the Border Guard force in general and Huoi Luong Border Guard Station in particular: Firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; protecting security, safety, and security of the people in border areas; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for development; preventing and combating cross-border crimes; serving the people, being attached to the people like fish to water, enhancing the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people; coordinating with neighboring countries to build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

Along with that, doing well the Party building work, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and Party members, participating in building the grassroots political system in border areas, implementing well the programs "National Border Guard Festival", "Border Shelter", "Border Spring Warms the Hearts of Villagers", "Accompanying Border Women", "Helping Children Go to School", "Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations"...

Advise and work with local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement national target programs, linking socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security in border areas. During the resistance wars against French colonialism, American imperialism and the northern border war in 1979, there were 33 children of Lai Chau homeland, Lai Chau Border Guard force (including Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station) and Regiment 741 directly holding guns, fighting bravely and sacrificing on this land.

The delegation expressed their deep emotion and respectfully bowed to commemorate the heroic martyrs, the outstanding children who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, firmly protecting the Fatherland's borders, and for the peaceful life of the people.
