Prime Minister requests to launch emulation campaign to learn from the example of Martyr Nguyen Dang Khai

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security visited and encouraged the family of Martyr, Major Nguyen Dang Khai.

According to the Official Dispatch, on April 18, 2025, the Prime Minister received a report from the Ministry of Public Security on the Quang Ninh Provincial Police's fight against a special project to destroy an illegal drug trafficking ring; during the pursuit, the subjects acted rashly, using military weapons to fight back against the police force, causing the death of Major Nguyen Dang Khai, an officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Ninh Provincial Police.

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent condolences and regards to the family of Martyr Major Nguyen Dang Khai, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police and the entire Public Security force; shared the difficulties and hardships; acknowledged the efforts of the entire Public Security force in the fight against crime, maintaining a peaceful and happy life for the people.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and relevant ministries and agencies to organize thoughtful visits, encourage and share the pain and loss; take timely measures to support materially and spiritually the relatives and family of comrade Nguyen Dang Khai. Agencies need to promptly have forms of rewards according to their authority and recommend and propose competent authorities to reward appropriately the collectives and individuals participating in solving the case.

The Prime Minister said that in the coming time, the situation of crime and drug abuse will continue to develop complicatedly with many methods and tricks constantly changing, becoming more sophisticated and dangerous. The subjects are ready to use military weapons to fight back against the authorities when discovered and arrested.

To continue to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of drug prevention, control and combat, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security to direct professional units to coordinate with the Quang Ninh Provincial Police to urgently organize investigations, coordinate prosecution and trial of cases for general deterrence and prevention. Conduct preliminary and final assessments of plans and strategies to combat and arrest especially dangerous drug criminals and those using weapons; ensure absolute safety of life, property, rights and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals, and minimize damage to people and property in the process of combating and arresting drug criminals.

Organize the launching of an emulation movement to learn from the brave example of Martyr Nguyen Dang Khai in the fight against crime; create a widespread and spirited attack and suppression of crime. Continue to focus on building the People's Public Security force in general, and the Drug Prevention Police force in particular, to be truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern, worthy of being a solid support, a "peaceful fulcrum" for the happy life of the people.

The Prime Minister requested ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and chairmen of provincial and municipal People's Committees to, according to their assigned functions and tasks, resolutely direct the implementation of tasks and solutions in Conclusion No. 132-KL/TW dated March 18, 2025 of the Politburo on continuing to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of drug prevention, control and combat work and Resolution No. 93/NQ-CP dated April 16, 2025 of the Government promulgating the plan to implement Conclusion No. 132-KL/TW.
