In order to create a healthy and useful playground for children during the summer, the Provincial Library is currently implementing many free activities to arouse the passion for reading as well as promote the talents of children in the province.

Present at the Provincial Library from early morning, the reporter recorded nearly 60 primary and secondary school children coming to the library to read books and access the internet to learn knowledge. Therefore, the library staff were also busier with supporting the children to make reading cards, look up, support searching the internet, books on science , life skills, and comics that they love. To better serve young readers, the library has equipped and arranged books, newspapers, and stories with more than 39,833 documents, a modern computer system connected to the internet. At the same time, it issued free book borrowing and reading cards; arranged a scientific, close, and cool reading space for children to comfortably explore the treasure trove of knowledge. Thanks to that, from the beginning of June until now, more than 400 children have come to register for free reading cards and book borrowing, 3 times higher than last year. Nguyen Anh Thu, Phu Ha Ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) shared: This summer I have more time, so my friends and I often go to the library to read books related to science and stories. The teachers at the library also teach the children how to read books effectively to exploit knowledge well, thereby applying it in their studies.

Children come to the Provincial Library to participate in an effective reading skills class.

In addition to the main activities of serving on-site information resources, the Provincial Library also organizes free skills classes every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to help children deal with problems that occur in daily life such as: Prevention of abuse, drowning, school violence, skills in using the library, effective reading and programs such as "I am a presenter", "Skillful hands", learning math with Soroban abacus. The library also organizes competitions such as: Poster design, recycled fashion design... to help children interact, learn from each other, and at the same time discover and nurture their talents. That is why many parents are interested and trust to bring their children here to participate. Ms. Pham Thi Ngoan, Van Hai ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city) shared: Being introduced by an acquaintance and following on the Provincial Library's Facebook page, I find the activities very useful and necessary for my children. Because I see that my child is still quite shy, I hope that when participating in the program "I am a presenter" and other activities, he will be equipped with many skills, thereby becoming more confident and bold.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Huong, Director of the Provincial Library, said: This summer, the Provincial Library has implemented innovative and creative summer activities aimed at meeting the practical needs of children, especially equipping them with the necessary skills in learning and living. In particular, when the library organizes services for readers on Saturday mornings, it has created conditions for many parents to have time on weekends to accompany and experience with their children. The summer activities will be organized by the library until early August, hoping to create a useful playground to help children in the province develop comprehensively, while attracting more and more people from all walks of life to the library to experience and read books so that this place can fully promote its role as a cultural institution serving the people.
