On the afternoon of November 18, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, received Mr. Robert Kaliňák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Slovakia.
At the reception, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Robert Kaliňák to visit Vietnam in the context of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries continuing to develop well, especially right after the successful visit to Slovakia by the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam from September 27 to October 1.
After this visit, the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam directed the Ministry of Public Security and relevant ministries and branches to urgently develop specific cooperation plans and roadmaps with Slovakian agencies and partners, aiming to deepen bilateral cooperation in all fields, in which security and defense cooperation is one of the key pillars.
Minister Luong Tam Quang informed that recently the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
In addition, Vietnam is also perfecting the law on defense and security industry. This is an important political and legal basis, creating favorable conditions for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to develop its industry, promote international cooperation to attract resources and advanced, modern technology, serving the task of ensuring national security and fighting and preventing crime.
In the context of the extremely complicated developments in the world and the region, with increasing traditional and non-traditional security challenges, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has a great need for equipment, and is aiming for self-sufficiency in the security industry. In that process, Slovakia is identified as one of the potential partners, with great room for cooperation.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security expressed its desire to cooperate with Slovak partners in researching, producing and transferring modern technologies to serve the modernization of national defense and security, contributing to ensuring national security and social order and safety of the two countries.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception of Minister Luong Tam Quang, Mr. Robert Kaliňák expressed his belief that the cooperation between the Vietnamese and Slovakian Ministries of Public Security will continue to develop strongly, practically and effectively, contributing positively to peace, stability and common prosperity of the two nations, as well as of the region and the world./.
