General Secretary To Lam this afternoon received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Slovakia Robert Kalinak.
The General Secretary affirmed that Slovakia has always been a loyal and close friend of Vietnam; and thanked the Government and people of Slovakia for always supporting and uniting with the Vietnamese people over the past 75 years.
The General Secretary highly appreciated the results of the talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kalinak and General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Defense. Defense cooperation between the two countries has achieved many positive results, becoming one of the important pillars of bilateral relations.

The General Secretary suggested that the two sides further promote cooperation in the fields of defense industry, military training, peacekeeping, etc.
On the basis of high political trust, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides enhance the effectiveness of existing consultation and cooperation mechanisms; create favorable conditions for ministries, branches and businesses of the two countries to connect and expand cooperation, making economics, science and technology a pillar in bilateral relations, and further promoting cultural, educational, tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam conveyed his regards and invitation to Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico to soon pay an official visit to Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Robert Kalinak shared that Slovakia is proud to have always stood side by side with Vietnam over the past 75 years, and that Vietnam is one of Slovakia's leading important partners in the region.
The Government and people of Slovakia always wish to further deepen and improve the effectiveness of multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in defense.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kalinak agreed with General Secretary To Lam's opinion, affirming that he will actively coordinate with Slovakia's ministries, sectors and Vietnamese partners to develop Vietnam-Slovakia relations commensurate with their existing level and potential.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kalinak stressed that the two countries have a lot of potential to complement each other in the defense industry. Slovakia is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in researching and implementing joint projects.
Mr. Robert Kalinak suggested that the two sides work together to find historical relics in Slovakia - where President Ho Chi Minh once visited - to contribute to educating the young generation of the two countries about the traditional friendship and cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Slovakia highly appreciated Vietnam's role at international and regional forums.
He also affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Slovakia is an important bridge, contributing to promoting friendly relations and enhancing understanding between the people of the two countries.
General Secretary encourages AP Moller-Maersk group to invest in maritime economy
This afternoon, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Vincent Clerc, Director of APMoller-Maersk Group (Denmark).
The General Secretary expressed his delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership (established in 2013) and the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries (established in November 2023). These cooperation frameworks are the driving force to promote the strong development of bilateral relations in all fields towards green and sustainable development.

The General Secretary stated that Vietnam focuses on developing infrastructure, including seaports with a green orientation to serve the goal of sustainable development and expressed his appreciation for the group's vision of building green ports and transportation.
Welcoming the group's investment expansion plan in Vietnam in developing a green, smart seaport system and logistics services, General Secretary To Lam encouraged the group to invest in areas such as the marine economy.
Vietnam is always ready to facilitate foreign investors in developing logistics projects, connecting regions, large cities, industrial zones in the country and with the world.
The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam is among the 20 economies with the largest international trade scale in the world and is promoting the development of synchronous, widespread and smooth transport infrastructure to increase the competitiveness of the economy.
CEO of AP Moller-Maersk Group, Mr. Vincent Clerc emphasized that Vietnam is an important partner of the group; the group's ships first docked at Vietnamese ports more than a century ago.
Mr. Vincent Clerc informed about the activities and achievements of cooperation with partners in Vietnam as well as the group's strategic transformation process in Vietnam.
The Group wishes to explore investment opportunities to build large, modern and green container seaports as well as strategic logistics projects in Vietnam.
