In the past two days, the 115 Emergency Center has received and handled a total of more than 40 out-of-hospital emergency cases. All were safely transferred to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for further treatment.

As a final unit, Khanh Hoa General Hospital has activated the entire emergency response plan, mobilizing maximum human resources in all departments, especially the Emergency Department doubling its staff. The hospital has established an online consultation system with medical units in the province to promptly provide professional support to isolated hospitals and medical stations. Doctor Nguyen Luong Ky - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital said: "On the morning of November 20, the hospital sent 2 ambulances and a team of doctors carrying a lot of medicine to follow the delegation of provincial leaders to support people in flood-affected areas who were evacuated from the dangerous area by the authorities. Hospital leaders assessed that the hospital would likely receive more patients when many people were rescued from the flooded area. Therefore, hospital leaders requested all departments to double their staff, arranged in 2 rounds to provide timely support when needed. Particularly on the evening of November 19, with the support of units on duty in Tay Nha Trang ward, the hospital's team of doctors brought spare blood to Dien Khanh General Hospital to perform emergency surgery on a pregnant woman suspected of having a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. After surgery, the pregnant woman's health was temporarily stable."

According to initial preliminary statistics, the entire health sector has received and treated more than 160 people affected by the flood. Currently, Dien Khanh General Hospital, the Provincial Tropical Diseases Hospital, and the Provincial Mental Hospital are isolated due to the flood. The Department of Health has directed Khanh Hoa General Hospital and a number of hospitals to support these three units with necessities.
In the communes of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh areas, traffic was severely disrupted, medical facilities thoroughly applied the "4 on-site" motto; maintained 24/24 duty, prepared medicine, oxygen tanks, emergency equipment and proactively coordinated with local rescue forces to transfer seriously ill patients from medical stations and regional clinics to regional medical centers for treatment. Doctor Tran Ngoc Thach - Director of Khanh Son Regional Medical Center said: "On the morning of November 20, the hospital received a pregnant woman with signs of fetal heart failure. In the context of traffic isolation, the center had a remote consultation with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Khanh Hoa General Hospital to perform surgery for the patient...".

Faced with the complicated and dangerous developments of floods in the area, the Department of Health has just issued an urgent dispatch to the units of the industry to increase on-duty, ensure emergency care and medical examination and treatment.

In the urgent dispatch, the Department of Health requested units to thoroughly apply the "4 on-site" motto (on-site command, on-site force, on-site means and supplies and on-site logistics); strictly maintain the 24/24-hour duty regime, proactively review, arrange and mobilize human resources to ensure emergency reception, examination, treatment and patient care at the unit; on-site duty until the situation stabilizes. At the same time, review and supplement the stock of medicines, infusion fluids, consumables and emergency equipment; prepare human resources, vehicles and equipment to coordinate with local authorities to organize reception and emergency care for people in flooded areas. Specialist II Doctor Trinh Ngoc Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Health said: "The Department has directed lower-level units to closely coordinate with upper-level hospitals to consult and seek professional opinions to promptly handle serious and difficult cases. Provincial hospitals, especially Khanh Hoa General Hospital and Ninh Thuan General Hospital, are always ready with professional teams, equipment, supplies, and medicines to promptly support lower-level medical examination and treatment facilities. In addition, the Provincial Center for Disease Control prepares supplies, chemicals, and means to carry out disease prevention and control after the flood; strengthen communication to guide people to prevent and control diseases such as: diarrhea, dengue fever, respiratory diseases, skin diseases...".
