The forum is co-organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in Austria, the National Innovation Center (NIC – under the Ministry of Finance) and the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce (WKO). Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung will attend and deliver an online speech at the event.
The Forum is a space for exchanging and sharing experiences, strengths in technology, innovation and digital transformation of countries around the world to help Vietnam become a high-income developed country by 2045. In particular, the Forum is an activity to concretize Resolution 57 and Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development, science and technology and innovation.
Mr. Vu Le Thai Hoang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Austria, said that in the spirit of Resolution 57 and the implementation of the Government's Action Program, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of representative agencies abroad have identified the method of technological diplomacy and innovation in a comprehensive and modern diplomacy, because cooperation for mutual development is the top priority. Each locality, depending on its strengths and specific conditions, will have appropriate initiatives and forms of promoting cooperation and connection.
“The event received strong support and response from the co-organizers, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), NIC, relevant ministries, technology corporations, universities and research institutes of the two countries. This will be the first Forum held in Europe to promote information exchange, update policies and the science, technology and innovation ecosystem of the two countries, create a forum to promote and connect the Vietnamese and Austrian technology business community to pave the way for signing and specific cooperation,” said Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang.
The event is expected to bring together many leading corporations from Austria and Vietnam in the fields of AI, health technology, semiconductors, and cybersecurity such as: UNIDO, TTTech, Infineon, Technologies Austria, Siconnnex, Dynatrace (Austria), along with FPT, VNPT, Sovico, Genetica (Vietnam). The focus of the Forum is to promote cooperation in strategic technology industries: semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, quantum technology, IoT, edge computing, and robotics.
Austria is known as one of the leading countries not only in Europe but also globally in research, development and application of core technologies, source technologies, and promoting innovation. In addition, Austria has also achieved remarkable achievements in the fields of semiconductors, AI and electronics, with research and development of advanced chip technology applications, smart electronic devices and modern sensors, contributing to shaping the foundation for the 4.0 industrial revolution.
According to Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, the Forum is one of the important activities in the strategy to promote international cooperation on innovation, aiming to support the Vietnamese business community in accessing advanced technology, expanding markets and attracting high-quality investment. As a co-organizer, NIC hopes to create a bridge between the innovation ecosystems of the two countries, contributing to promoting the development of core technology, knowledge transfer and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the context of digital transformation and international integration.
“Vietnam, with the orientation of becoming a regional innovation center, is promoting the development and application of pioneering technologies such as semiconductors, AI, IoT, etc. to serve green transformation and digital transformation. The potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Austria in these areas is huge, especially in technology transfer and development of high-quality human resources, creating added value for both economies,” said Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai.
The Forum is an important milestone in the process of promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Austria in the field of technology and innovation. Not only a bilateral bridge, the Forum also opens a strategic dialogue channel with the business community and leading technology and innovation partners in Europe, contributing to diversifying trade and investment relations and increasing the depth of cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of Vietnam.
Through future-oriented networking activities, the Forum creates conditions for businesses of both sides to effectively exploit opportunities in technology transfer, develop high-quality human resources, and gradually bring Vietnamese businesses deeper into the global value chain in the field of semiconductors and strategic technology industries.
