
In recent years, in the coastal areas of the province, 4 more markets have been built and completed (Tan Thang market, Van Thanh market, Chi Cong market, Dong Tien market) with a total investment of nearly 90 billion VND. For private economic sectors, they have also promoted the expansion of civilized and modern retail distribution systems such as electronics supermarkets, stores, shops, etc., spread from urban to rural areas. According to the local Department of Industry and Trade, this area currently has 138 markets, 2 shopping centers, 2 supermarkets, 66 convenience stores (Coopfood, Winmart+, Bach Hoa XANH) and more than 2,500 grocery stores, distribution agents, and retailers.
Thanks to the increasingly developed commercial infrastructure, it has created conditions for goods in the area to circulate smoothly between regions with a variety of rich and diverse types... Along with that, commercial activities continue to develop positively with total retail sales of goods and revenue from service industries recorded in the first half of this year of more than 61,100 billion VND (up 13.56% over the same period last year). Of which: Total retail sales of goods reached more than 38,700 billion VND; revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel reached nearly 14,500 billion VND; revenue from other service industries is estimated at 7,895.3 billion VND and all showed double-digit growth over the same period.
In recent times, e-commerce in the coastal areas of the province has developed rapidly and become an important distribution channel, especially through the use of digital platforms (Zalo/Zoom) to provide information and connect supply and demand. At the same time, many local businesses have been supported to participate in business and open booths on major e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Sendo, etc. In addition, the functional sector is also interested in coordinating to organize training and fostering on digital transformation and e-commerce for production - business establishments and cooperatives to improve competitiveness in the digital age. In this form, representatives of participating units said that this is very practical support, because in addition to updating information on e-commerce, they are also guided on business skills on digital platforms, easy to apply in practice; such as how to build and manage a booth, process orders effectively or steps to prepare for a livestream sales session from the script, context, products, interactions...
At the same time, trade promotion and market expansion for goods consumption are always of interest and promoted by the relevant agencies. This includes coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Trade Promotion Agency to organize conferences, seminars, and online trade connection programs. Thereby, supporting and seeking opportunities to expand markets for local industries and businesses with products exported to markets that have signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with Vietnam. On the other hand, regularly monitoring, grasping and promptly coordinating to provide information on technical trade barriers related to export goods to industry associations and businesses to proactively orient production and business in accordance with the new situation...
