Standing Secretariat works with Central External Relations Commission

Attending the meeting were comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, representatives of the Party Central Committee Office, leaders of the Commission and leaders of departments and units of the Central External Relations Commission.

At the meeting, comrade Le Hoai Trung reported to the Standing member of the Secretariat on the outstanding work results of the Central External Relations Commission since the beginning of the 13th Party Congress term and some key directions and tasks in the coming time.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung emphasized that in the context of the international situation undergoing great changes, rapid and complicated developments, with multi-dimensional and profound impacts on the world, the region and our country, the Central External Relations Commission has closely followed the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, thoroughly grasped the profound guidance of the Politburo , the Secretariat and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and strived to complete a large volume of assigned work with increasingly high requirements.

Research and strategic advisory work has been focused on, proactively promoted, improved in quality and innovated. Notably, the Central External Relations Commission has advised the Politburo to issue a number of important Party documents on foreign affairs, including Resolution No. 34-NQ/TW dated January 9, 2023 of the Politburo on a number of major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.

Thereby, it helps strengthen the Party's leadership over foreign affairs, concretize the Party's foreign policy, effectively contribute to creating a proactive strategic position, and consolidate a favorable foreign situation for national construction and defense.

The Central External Relations Commission has well organized the Party's external activities, especially the external activities of the General Secretary and senior leaders, and achieved many important results, which are a strong driving force to promote and deepen the multifaceted cooperation between us and other countries.

The work of monitoring, urging and coordinating the implementation of high-level agreements, including agreements on the Party channel, has been focused on effective implementation. The Central External Relations Commission also strives to accompany provincial/municipal Party Committees in promoting foreign affairs activities in accordance with regulations, meeting requirements and goals.

External information work has been actively and effectively promoted. 2 In addition to professional work, the work of Party building and the building of the Central External Relations Commission has been focused on and implemented effectively with many innovations.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Committee and representatives of the units of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee also expressed some opinions to continue to implement foreign affairs work more effectively.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong expressed his pleasure to visit and work with the Central External Relations Commission, the agency responsible for advising the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on foreign affairs.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized that since the beginning of the 13th Congress term, the world and regional situation has continued to develop in a complicated manner, but foreign affairs have achieved many important and historic results and achievements, which were assessed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as "an impressive bright spot among all the country's general results and achievements".

The Standing Member of the Secretariat affirmed that the Central Foreign Affairs Commission plays a very important role in the achievements of foreign affairs.

He highly appreciated and commended the efforts and achievements of the Central External Relations Commission since the beginning of the 13th Congress term, especially the results in research and strategic advisory work, helping the Politburo and the Secretariat to comprehensively lead and direct foreign affairs work.

Regarding the direction and tasks in the coming time, in the face of rapid developments in the world situation, the country's development needs increasingly pose new tasks and demands, the Standing Member of the Secretariat requested the Foreign Affairs Commission to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, promote the achieved work results, and make efforts to contribute to the successful implementation of the Party's 13th National Congress' foreign policy.

Comrade Luong Cuong emphasized that the Foreign Affairs Department needs to continue to attach importance to and improve the quality of research and strategic advice, considering this a key task.

In addition to monitoring and grasping new developments in the international situation, especially issues related to our country, the Central External Relations Commission continues to focus on advising on solutions to effectively implement agreements with partners; further promote the pivotal role of the Party's foreign affairs in orienting the overall strategy of relations with other countries, closely and effectively coordinating between the Party's foreign affairs, State diplomacy, and people's diplomacy; effectively implementing foreign affairs activities, enhancing trust, and creating a solid political foundation for Vietnam's relations with other countries and international partners.

Comrade Luong Cuong hopes that the Central Foreign Affairs Commission will continue to promote the spirit of innovation, dare to think, dare to do, regularly strengthen and improve all aspects of the capacity of the Foreign Affairs Commission's staff, build a team of staff with increasingly solid expertise, steadfast political will, and absolute loyalty to the Party's ideals and the interests of the nation.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat believes that all leaders, cadres and civil servants of the Foreign Affairs Department will continue to promote the achievements, strive to fulfill their tasks well, and continue to write the golden pages of the Party's foreign affairs sector over the past 75 years.

On behalf of the leadership and all cadres and civil servants of the Central External Relations Commission, comrade Le Hoai Trung respectfully thanked the Standing Member of the Secretariat for his attention and direction, emphasizing that the External Relations Commission will thoroughly grasp the directions of the Standing Member of the Secretariat on the key directions and tasks of the External Relations Commission in the coming time.

The Head of the Central External Relations Commission affirmed that he will continue to promote the glorious tradition of 75 years of construction and growth, successfully complete assigned political tasks, and build a united and strong Central External Relations Commission to meet the requirements and tasks in the coming time.
