Thuong Xuan focuses on building and promoting cultural and sports institutions.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In recent years, the cultural and community learning houses (CLCs) in villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods in Thuong Xuan district have always received investment and construction attention and have been increasingly improved. The investment in construction and step-by-step effective promotion of the functions of the system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions has met the increasingly diverse cultural needs of the people in the district.

Cultural institutions have met the physical training needs of all classes of people.

In early 2024, the cultural house of village 3, Tho Thanh commune was put into use with full sound and lighting equipment, a book library... In the 170m2 area, there are volleyball courts, badminton courts, and sports training equipment and tools to serve cultural and artistic activities, and daily health training of the people.

Mr. Pham Van Dai, Party cell secretary and village head 3, said: “The village’s cultural house has been inaugurated and put into operation, becoming a place for performing arts and sports for the masses. The cultural house is not only a place to exercise but also a place to share difficulties and problems in people’s daily lives. Currently, more than 93% of families in the village have achieved the title of cultural family, and the village has been recognized as a cultural village for 3 consecutive years.”

Currently, 7/7 villages of Tho Thanh commune have cultural and sports centers, of which 2/7 cultural and sports centers have been converted from oldeducational facilities. The commune has also completed a cultural and sports center with full functions. Currently, the cultural and sports centers are effectively used and preserved by the people, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people in the commune, promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of the commune to develop more and more.

Mr. Le Van Cong, Vice Chairman of Tho Thanh Commune People's Committee, said: "The cultural institutions of the commune have come into operation and affirmed their important role and position in the community. This is a place to create useful playgrounds for many participants, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, and at the same time, it is a place to discover new factors to promote the development of culture, arts and sports among the masses".

To complete the system of cultural institutions, Thuong Xuan district and localities have synchronously deployed many solutions, focusing on propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and actions of all classes of people about the role and significance of cultural institutions, associated with promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas. Communes have proactively promoted resources among the people, in addition to contributing money, working days..., communes have also mobilized social resources from children living far from home, living in other provinces and cities, children living and working abroad... In addition, communes also regularly organize activities to commend positive examples in activities of building cultural life, building cultural institutions, donating land for roads, welfare works; mobilizing people and associations and organizations to jointly renovate cultural houses, cultural house grounds, village roads, alleys...

In 2024 and the first months of 2025, Thuong Xuan district invested nearly 26.4 billion VND to complete 14 cultural houses in villages using budget capital from the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas... contributing to gradually perfecting grassroots cultural institutions, meeting the increasingly high needs of people's daily life and enjoyment of spiritual culture, making culture permeate every family and community, creating a driving force to build an increasingly prosperous and civilized homeland.

Currently, in Thuong Xuan district, there are 113/124 villages with cultural and sports centers, of which 3 are degraded and need to be upgraded and repaired; 16/16 communes have cultural and sports centers at the commune level; of which 12/16 meet the regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Cultural, physical training and sports facilities have partly met the physical training needs of the people; at the same time, they serve the task of propaganda and agitation to serve the political tasks of the locality.

Mr. Le Huu Giap, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Thuong Xuan district, said: “In recent years, the investment in construction and repair of cultural houses has received attention from all levels, sectors and localities. After being put into use, the cultural house has promoted its function in diversifying community activities associated with the cultural house space. Not only on holidays and Tet, but also on normal days, the cultural house is used to organize people's meetings, party cell and mass organization activities; for village cadres to propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people. The cultural house is also a place to display and preserve traditional cultural values ​​of the locality, making an important contribution to building a healthy cultural life, better serving the needs of daily life, enjoying culture, and looking up information of the people, contributing to strongly encouraging the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life at the grassroots level".
