Integrate personal identification code instead of tax code

PTQ - From July 1, 2025, Vietnamese people will use personal identification numbers instead of tax codes. Integrating identification codes into tax codes will solve difficulties and help tax authorities manage easily, ensure full tax collection, and prevent tax fraud.

Individuals, households, and businesses will use the identification number on their citizen identification cards to declare and pay taxes, instead of having to remember a separate tax code. This helps reduce administrative procedures, save time for declaration, and ensure data synchronization with the National Population Database. Taxpayers need to ensure that their full name, date of birth, and identification number match the system. The tax authority is also proactively standardizing data, coordinating with the police and relevant parties to ensure the conversion goes smoothly.

People can look up information via the General Department of Taxation's website, the eTaxMobile application, or contact local tax authorities directly for support. This is an important step in the process of modernizing tax management, towards a transparent and effective public administration.
