Tien Giang: Commendation and reward for 70 outstanding women

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong said: The conference is an opportunity to commend and honor 70 typical advanced women in implementing the patriotic movement for the period of 2020 - 2025, selected and introduced by the Unions at all levels in the province; commend the great contributions of outstanding women in various fields of the homeland of Tien Giang, which is rich in revolutionary traditions, patriotism, indomitable will, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, contributing to the development of the locality. Thereby, arousing and promoting the creativity of women of all classes, creating motivation to contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 10th Provincial Women's Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress.

The typical, advanced, and exemplary individuals today are beautiful, brilliant flowers in the colorful, beautiful flower garden of the province's women, continuing to spread strongly, truly being bright, vivid examples, contributing to the nurturing of awareness, ideology, and emotions, arousing and multiplying the positive aspects in each cadre, member, and woman, contributing to the successful implementation of the local innovation and development, building the culture and people of Tien Giang, worthy of the 8 golden words that beloved Uncle Ho bestowed upon Vietnamese women "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and capable"; affirming the role and position of Tien Giang women in the new period, ready to enter a new era, the era of the nation's rise.

The report on the results of 5 years of implementing the PTTĐ of women of all classes in the province has clearly shown in the creative, widespread and practical activities of Tien Giang women, contributing to the construction and socio -economic development of the province.

Over the past 5 years, the Provincial Women's Union's programs have been integrated and concretized into projects, tasks, and activities suitable to the needs of each locality, creating practical and highly influential effects; mobilizing the active participation of members and women from urban to rural areas; from female officers of the Armed Forces to officers, civil servants, public employees, and workers of agencies and enterprises...

Women have strived to compete in studying, training, working, and building Tien Giang women to meet the requirements of the new era with the criteria of "having knowledge, morality, health, and responsibility for themselves, their families, society, and country".

More prominently through the campaign "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" in the period of 2020 - 2021, although facing many difficulties and challenges from natural disasters and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has many creative and flexible activities suitable to the needs of each group of women and the actual situation of the locality.

Officials and women's union members in the province participated in contributing to support the prevention and fight against Covid-19, mobilizing 58 tons of necessities, nearly 85 tons of agricultural products, 500 boxes of noodles, 2,000 banh tet, more than 7,000 meals...; with a total value of over 5 billion VND.

Practically welcoming the Congress of Women at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term, welcoming the 13th National Women's Congress for the 2022 - 2027 term, the Provincial Women's Union has launched a special emulation campaign with many meaningful projects and tasks in caring for and supporting women members and children in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 17 billion VND.

Notably, over the past 5 years, the Association at all levels has always been a companion with its members and women in economic development, rising out of poverty, through forms of support for loans from the Social Policy Bank, the Women's Economic Development Support Fund, programs, projects..., has supported 80,000 women in production, business, economic development, with more than 2,000 billion VND; opened 515 industrial sewing classes, small-scale industry, livestock and poultry farming, aquaculture, mushroom growing, fruit gardens... for 13,075 female workers in need and introduced jobs to 10,155 female workers. Over the past 5 years, the Association has helped 32,235 poor women, 16,228 women heads of poor households have conditions to develop the economy, stabilize their lives, contributing significantly to the province's poverty reduction work.

Through the implementation of the PTTĐ, campaigns and tasks of the Provincial Women's Union and movements, over 7,500 typical examples in various fields have been discovered and commended. Of which, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 58 outstanding individuals and 95 collectives; awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal to 155 individuals; 626 collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded by the Provincial Women's Union, branches and levels; the District, City, Town Women's Union and its affiliated Associations awarded Certificates of Merit to 715 outstanding collectives and 815 individuals.

The conference listened to exemplary delegates representing outstanding individuals share their experiences, methods and determination to strive and improve in life and work in the locality.

The Provincial Women's Union commended and awarded 70 typical advanced women representing various sectors, fields, and women's union members; at the same time, launched the PTTD for the period 2025 - 2030.
