(ABO) Vocational training and development for women, especially rural women, has been actively implemented by the Women's Union at all levels in Tien Giang province in recent times. Thereby, creating conditions for women with vocational knowledge to find jobs, develop family economy , increase income, and improve life.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING ON DEMAND
Identifying vocational training and job creation for rural female workers as important tasks, every year, the Provincial Women's Union has directed all levels of the Union to propagate and mobilize female workers to participate in vocational training; directed grassroots Unions to survey the vocational training needs of female workers; coordinated with agencies to promote propaganda on labor and employment for women, especially women in rural areas, remote areas to access information on jobs and vocational training.

Specifically, recently, the Provincial Women's Union has coordinated with L'Oreal Vietnam Company to open 2 free hair, nail, and makeup training classes for students to support vocational training for rural workers and unemployed female workers in the locality, with training costs of over 700 million VND/class (100% funded by L'Oreal Vietnam Company).
At the same time, the company coordinated 3 consultation sessions on foreign labor export with 360 women's union members (WCU) attending; coordinated with the Agricultural Extension Department to organize 8 seminars; 12 science and technology transfer classes on cultivation and animal husbandry with over 1,257 WCU members attending.
Along with that, we continue to maintain the activities of livelihood models: "Women making fishing buoys", "Women sewing for processing", "Women sewing handbags", "Women pressing raincoats", "Coconut broom weaving"... In addition, the Association also implements the livelihood support model "Mobile lottery ticket sales" for 20 women selling lottery tickets with the amount of 180 million VND...
According to the Provincial Women's Union, in recent years, the Provincial Women's Union at all levels has supported and coordinated with relevant sectors to provide advice and introduce jobs to 24,635 female workers in need of employment; opened 201 vocational training classes for 4,539 female workers in need of starting a business to participate in vocational classes: Sewing, knitting, cooking, rice planting, techniques for growing durian, dragon fruit, grapefruit, safe vegetable growing, high-yield rice, ornamental plants, aquaculture, pig farming techniques...
In addition, the Association at all levels also maintains and develops models of creating jobs on the spot such as weaving plastic rope, weaving baskets, weaving water hyacinth, sewing handbags...; coordinates with functional sectors to organize training courses on transferring science on growing pineapple, taro, rice; raising pigs, chickens, ducks; caring for durian, jackfruit, rice...
There are many free vocational training classes, creating conditions for women in difficult circumstances to access vocational skills, thereby choosing a career suitable for themselves and their family's conditions.
Having participated in the free hairdressing and makeup training class, Ms. Phan Thi Cam Tu (Dang Hung Phuoc commune, Cho Gao district) and Ms. Pham Thi Phuong (Tan Ly Tay commune, Chau Thanh district) were both excited to say that after 4 months of participating in the course, they have grasped their career opportunities with the enthusiastic guidance of the teachers. After completing the course, many students have mastered the skills and have the skills to pursue their careers by opening hairdressing and makeup salons.

Vice President of the Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien said: Vocational training and job introduction for female workers is one of the key tasks in the activities of the Union and the women's movement in recent times, to contribute to reducing the rate of unemployed female workers in the locality, while helping female workers have stable jobs, increase income, and develop the family economy.
CREATE JOBS FOR FARM WOMEN
The sample products have just been delivered to the Kim Ngan Cooperative Group (THT), Luong Hoa Lac Commune, Cho Gao District, which is also the time when the women here are busy, enthusiastic, and diligent in learning how to knit according to the samples sent by the company, while trying to complete the products as soon as possible to deliver on time as set by the ordering company.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Sen, Head of the THT, said: For nearly 20 years, the THT has always accompanied women in and outside the locality to have more jobs during the off-season, increase family income, and more importantly, help everyone have a stable job.

According to Ms. Hong Sen, this knitting job is not too difficult, as long as women are persistent and skillful, they can do it. Before delivering new knitting items to women, Ms. Hong Sen always guides and knits samples so that everyone can understand clearly, knit smoothly, and follow the prescribed schedule.
In particular, women are supported with knitting materials and are allowed to take them home to knit. Previously, only about 10 women participated in this profession, but now, THT has taught and created jobs for hundreds of workers.
Skilled and quick with this knitting job, many women share: This knitting job is very convenient, anyone can do housework at home and knit in their free time. The time is not too restrictive and the income is stable, so it is suitable for women with young children and older workers.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Luong Phu B hamlet, Luong Hoa Lac commune, since participating in knitting at THT, Ms. Nga has had an additional source of income to supplement her family's economic resources. Arranging her work harmoniously, Ms. Nga has received goods to knit at home and increased livestock production to raise about 20 cows.
Ms. Nga shared more: At first, I was quite confused because I was not yet proficient in the job, but with the support from the Women's Union and the Cooperative, I gradually got used to the new job. Not only me, but almost everyone in the village and hamlet can now weave products made from sedge, reeds, etc.
Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Luong Hoa Lac Commune, Cho Gao District, Nguyen Thi Thuy Van, identified: Vocational training, job creation, and income increase are among the conditions for rural women to escape poverty and become rich legitimately. Based on a survey of the vocational training needs of local workers, every year, the Women's Union of the commune regularly connects and creates conditions for women to attend short-term vocational training and consulting classes organized by the Provincial and District Women's Unions.

Promoting vocational training and creating jobs for rural women has contributed significantly to helping women escape poverty, become rich legitimately, and at the same time creating opportunities for women to improve their position in the family and society.
In the coming time, Women's Unions at all levels will continue to promote propaganda and training in new occupations, meeting market demand, suitable for female workers; encourage women to actively learn and create jobs; continue to support capital and develop the learned occupations for members; effectively build and maintain cooperative models and linkage groups to create jobs for rural women; and widely implement Project 939 on supporting women to start businesses.
