According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) of Tien Giang province, following the direction of the Prime Minister, Tien Giang province has supplied 15.95 million m3 of sand for filling 5 key traffic projects in the Southern region. Up to now, the province has allocated 18 sand mines for 5 projects, with a total reserve of more than 15.746 million m3 .
The province has granted 12 licenses for river sand exploitation, with a total reserve of more than 11.53 million m3 ; has allocated 6 more mines with a total reserve of more than 4.216 million m3 , and is completing documents and licensing procedures.

Thus, up to now, Tien Giang province has licensed the exploitation of 12 sand mines according to the plan and completed before March 15, 2025 under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha. The remaining 6 sand mines will be added later and are currently urgently completing the mining license application in May 2025.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Pham Van Trong said that the working session was very effective, recording the feedback and recommendations of businesses and contractors.
Comrade Pham Van Trong requested that all sand mining licensing procedures must be completed by the end of April 2025. The Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Office specifically recorded each project and enterprise that was still behind schedule.
Enterprises and contractors choose the best option when exploiting sand mines. For licensed sand mines, when there is a need to increase capacity, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will re-evaluate the exploitation situation and only allow it if there is a real need; avoid the tendency of trickle-down and waiting for prices; progress must be ensured according to project requirements.
For sand mines that have not completed the procedures, they must be completed before April 30, 2025. If there is a need to adjust capacity, shorten time, improve, change means and mining tools, report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment...
