Branch and group meetings have become forums for female cadres and members to share experiences and knowledge about building happy families, developing household economies, protecting the environment, etc. Since then, women's awareness of their roles and responsibilities in the construction of new rural areas has been significantly improved.

In the criteria for building a new rural area, the issue of landscape and environment is always a challenge. The Women's Union of the commune has launched and effectively maintained the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's to contribute to fostering the values of a prosperous, progressive, happy, civilized family" and "a family of 5 yes's, 3 clean's".
In addition, the emulation movement "Long An Women join hands to build the New Rural Area", 100% of the association's grassroots units registered to carry out the movements, focusing on environmental sanitation work, planting flowers on rural roads, ensuring a green - clean - beautiful landscape; mobilizing members' families to donate land, contribute labor and money to build rural roads, build public works; actively carry out the movements "Women help each other to do business, eliminate difficulties and reduce poverty", "Women are good at doing business"...
Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Long An Commune, Le Thi Phuong Thao, said: "The branches always proactively organize propaganda activities, mobilizing members to participate in building the new rural area through specific actions such as: The Union has established and maintained 6 self-managed women's groups to protect the environment, with the active participation of hundreds of members. These groups regularly organize campaigns to clean up village roads and alleys, collect plastic waste, plant and care for flowers along the roads, contributing to creating a clean and beautiful landscape, improving the quality of life.
The association also encourages members to use clean water, collect and classify garbage at home... Many good models have been replicated such as "Women's flower route", "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe road"... In 2024, the whole commune will have 94% of households achieving "5 no 3 clean".
BUILDING A WARM LIFE, HAPPY FAMILY
Identifying economic development, poverty reduction, and income increase for members as important goals contributing to the construction of the new rural area, the Women's Union of Long An commune has created credit conditions for members to borrow capital to develop production with preferential interest rates from legal sources such as: The Association has coordinated with the Social Policy Bank of Chau Thanh district to create conditions for more than 100 members to borrow preferential capital, with a total outstanding debt of more than 3 billion VND. This capital is used by women for livestock, farming, and small business, contributing to improving their lives and sustainable poverty reduction.

In particular, the Association has supported 2 female members to start up and start a business such as: Traditional medicine service with a capital of 70 million VND, Ms. Pham Thi Van sells yogurt with a capital of 30 million VND. Up to now, from starting a business, families have both ensured a stable income and developed the economy. In addition, female members have maintained the livelihood model: "Raising ornamental fish" with 16 members, up to now supporting 16 members with breeding stock; established the "Beading" livelihood model with 14 members.
The Association also coordinated with related sectors to provide advice and introduce jobs to 6 female workers who are looking for jobs. The project has created opportunities for women to start up and start innovative businesses, contributing to the economic development of individuals, families and society, achieving the national goals of enterprise development and the national strategy on gender equality, and being confident to participate in economic development more and more effectively.
Promoting the nation’s tradition of charity, Long An women have carried out many activities to care for the disadvantaged, poor women, and children in difficult circumstances. The Women’s Union of the commune has coordinated to mobilize socialization, giving hundreds of gifts and scholarships to poor and orphaned children.
Not outside the development trend, the Women's Union of Long An commune has actively implemented contents related to digital transformation in the activities of the Union and in the lives of its members. The Union has coordinated to organize training courses on using smartphones, accessing the Internet, applying social networks, making cashless payments, etc.
Thanks to that, many women have learned to buy and sell online, contributing to expanding the market and increasing the value of products. The association also maintains a fanpage to disseminate legal knowledge, life skills, share examples of good people and good deeds, creating a positive spread.
Women in Long An commune have been promoting their roles and responsibilities in all areas of life. Their proactive and active participation not only contributes significantly to the completion of the NTM criteria, but also enhances the status of women in the family and society.
