Tien Phong Golf Championship 2025 supports young Vietnamese talents

The event promises to bring a meaningful season, where sports go hand in hand with social responsibility, contributing to fueling the aspirations of the young generation of Vietnam.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, said the tournament will take place on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the first issue of Tien Phong Newspaper (November 16, 1953 - November 16, 2025). On a journey of more than 7 decades, Tien Phong Newspaper has been steadfast in its mission of "Accompanying Vietnamese youth", not only through its writings but also through social, cultural and sports activities, to spread the spirit of beautiful living, dedication and the desire to rise up.

“Based on that spirit, the Pioneer Golf Championship - For Young Vietnamese Talents was initiated in 2017, not only as a prestigious sports playground but also as a meaningful charity activity. Each participating golfer contributes to adding resources to the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, helping to nurture the dreams and aspirations of young people on their journey to establish themselves, build a career and contribute to the country,” said Mr. Phung Cong Suong.

Representing the accompanying units, Mr. Mark Reeves, Deputy General Director of BRG Group, shared his pride that BRG Group has accompanied the event for the past 9 years. He said that moving the venue to Thien Duong-Legend Valley Country Club golf course was to bring a new experience, at a classy golf course located in the beautiful landscape of Ninh Binh.

“Chairwoman Madame Nga of BRG Group is committed to accompanying Tien Phong Golf Championship and many other events of Tien Phong Newspaper for noble values, especially promoting young Vietnamese talents to reach the world,” Mr. Reeves emphasized.

At the press conference, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Acting General Director of Tasco Auto, said that the company will sponsor the Hole-in-one tournament, including 3 cars Volvo, Lynk & Co and Geely at the Par 3 holes. “Tasco Auto always aims for community values. Through Tien Phong Golf Championship, we hope to contribute to supporting and encouraging young Vietnamese talents,” said Mr. Tuan.

On this occasion, journalist Phung Cong Suong and Miss Vietnam 2016 1st Runner-up Ngo Thanh Thanh Tu, representing Kangaroo Group, presented 10 Kangaroo water purifiers to teachers and students at two schools that suffered heavy damage from storms Bualoi and Matmo. Teacher Hoang Thi Mao (Thuong Binh Kindergarten, Tuyen Quang) and teacher Tran Quoc Vuong (Mo Vang Secondary Boarding School, Lao Cai) were the representatives to receive the gifts.

Responding to questions about the scale and notable golfers, Mr. Phung Cong Suong said that although the tournament is a grassroots event, it has high professional quality, has introduced many talented faces and contributed to the development of Vietnamese golf. This year, the Organizing Committee invited the top 3 golfers from previous seasons, promising to bring memorable competitions. The tournament gathered 144 golfers competing on the 18-hole course.

The organizers gave teachers and students at 2 schools 10 water purifiers.

This year’s prize includes three valuable Volvo cars for hole-in-one shots. “Through eight seasons, no golfer has been able to conquer this challenge. Hopefully, the change of location will bring about a historic milestone,” said Mr. Phung Cong Suong.

Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Tan Anh expressed his excitement when the tournament was held locally, considering this an opportunity to promote sports and tourism development and promote the image of Ninh Binh.

The Tien Phong Golf Championship 2025 - For Young Vietnamese Talents will officially take place on November 15 at Legend Valley Country Club, Ninh Binh, with the participation of 144 golfers from home and abroad. The athletes will compete in stroke play format with NET points according to Handicap System 36, divided into 5 groups: A, B, C, D (women) and Young Talent group. The championship title (Best Gross) will be awarded to the golfer with the best total score on the Par 72 course.

According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament is not only a gathering place for excellent golfers, but also a symbol of sportsmanship combined with social responsibility, inspiring confidence and empowering young Vietnamese talents on their journey to assert themselves.
