In Ta Leng Lao Chai village (Ta Leng commune), people often mention Mr. Giang A Thenh as a prestigious and exemplary person in economic development. Having held positions such as: Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ta Leng commune (old), Party cell secretary and now village chief, with a sense of responsibility and will to overcome difficulties, Mr. Thenh actively promotes the role of a prestigious person through specific actions in family economic development.
Realizing that the village was still poor and the land had not been exploited effectively, he chose a comprehensive economic model suitable for the climate and customs of the Mong people. He planted 200 peach trees to create a long-term source of income, and at the same time, raised 10 pigs and dozens of poultry to take advantage of by-products and have short-term income. Thanks to proper care, the model brings in an income of about 70 million VND per year.
When the economic development model was successful, Mr. Thenh actively shared his experience, guided people in choosing varieties, taking care of peach trees, raising pigs and preventing diseases for livestock. He encouraged households to change crops, expand livestock, contributing to reducing the number of poor households in the village to 12. He became a support and inspiration for people to rise up.
This year, 67 years old, Mr. Sung A Ho in Sung Cho residential group (Doan Ket ward) is still passionate about working, developing the family economy, and making positive contributions to society. After retiring, Mr. Sung A Ho and his family members focused on expanding the tea area and raising livestock. In 2015, realizing the high demand for horse meat, Mr. Ho had a herd of 15 horses and buffaloes to raise commercially. After each rice harvest, his family did not burn straw in the field but dried and preserved it carefully, and planted 7,000 square meters of elephant grass to feed the buffaloes and horses. With adequate food sources and timely disease prevention, the livestock grew well. In 2023, with the State's support for production costs, plus the family's counterpart fund, Mr. Ho invested in building solid barns to ensure environmental sanitation. Currently, his family has 8 buffaloes and horses.

Through visits to farm models, fattening buffaloes, and growing tea in and outside the province, Mr. Ho learned how to fertilize, spray pesticides at the right stage of tea development, and harvest properly, thereby achieving high tea productivity. The effectiveness of tea plants has motivated his family to expand the tea area (by 2024). Currently, his family has 2 hectares of tea and grows 2 hectares of corn. After deducting expenses, his family earns more than 100 million VND/year.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh (a prestigious person in Km 2 village, Binh Lu commune) is a typical example of agricultural economic development associated with new rural construction. Currently, he is the Director of Binh Lu Agricultural and Service Cooperative - a unit that produces vermicelli that meets the province's 3-star OCOP standards. Talking to us, Mr. Anh shared: "I have been involved in vermicelli making for nearly 40 years. From the early days of manual production, lacking everything, until now we have a factory, a modern vermicelli dryer, and our products are increasingly trusted by consumers."
According to Mr. Anh, the Cooperative currently has 11 member households that jointly produce according to traditional methods, taking quality as the top factor. Thanks to the source of locally grown cassava, the processing process ensures food hygiene and safety and preserves the natural flavor, Binh Lu cassava vermicelli products have become a brand trusted and chosen by consumers in and outside the province.
“We always try to preserve our ancestors’ profession, at the same time improve the design, register the trademark so that the product has a firm position in the market. Binh Lu vermicelli is not only a 3-star OCOP product but also the pride of the local people” - Mr. Anh said.

Thanks to the cooperative model, member households have stable jobs and their income has improved significantly. Every year, the Cooperative consumes dozens of tons of cassava tubers, creating seasonal jobs for dozens of workers. The story of making vermicelli by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh and the members of Binh Lu Cooperative is not only a journey to preserve traditional crafts, but also a vivid proof of the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the aspiration to rise up of the people in the highlands, contributing to building a prosperous and happy life right on their homeland.
In the work of socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and new rural construction, prestigious people are always exemplary in finding good measures and methods to exploit and promote the potential and strengths of land and climate, applying scientific and technological advances to livestock farming and production, increasing income for themselves and their families. Many prestigious families have successfully applied farm economic models, not only enriching their families but also supporting and helping many other households escape poverty through support of seeds, capital and techniques. In the province, many models of good economic performance and legitimate enrichment have appeared; many households have an average income of 100 million to 200 million VND/year...
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions said: “Prestigious people are village elders, village chiefs, religious dignitaries, people who understand customs and practices and have a profound influence in the community. They are the “bridge” between the Party and the people, and at the same time “fire-bearers”, spreading the spirit of innovation to each village. They are also exemplary in economic development, building economic development models, increasing household income, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction. In addition, they actively propagate and mobilize people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and support and implement production transformation and economic development in the locality. The Department always focuses on fully and promptly implementing policies for prestigious people”.
In 2025, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions coordinated to organize 12 conferences to disseminate and provide information to more than 200 prestigious people; at the same time, organized 4 exchange and learning trips in the province for over 100 prestigious people. In 2024 alone, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions organized 6 conferences and training courses to provide information to 375 prestigious people; organized 3 delegations to visit and exchange and learn experiences in other localities. In addition, support policies such as distributing newspapers and magazines; giving gifts on holidays and Tet; buying health insurance cards; visiting when sick... were fully implemented with a total budget of nearly 1.5 billion VND.
It can be affirmed that prestigious people in the province have been promoting their exemplary and pioneering roles, being examples for family members, village and hamlet communities to follow, actively participating in production and business development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and new rural construction.
