On the morning of May 22, the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in collaboration with the International Data Group (IDG) and the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies (HIDS) opened the ATTACKER 2025 academic competition, part of the Ho Chi Minh City Fintech Road 2025 event series.
ATTACKER 2025 is a national playground for students interested in financial technology (fintech) and innovation.
The contest received support from many major universities such as University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences , University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University...
More than 1,000 accounts have registered to participate as of now.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Cong Gia Khanh, Principal of the University of Economics and Law, over the past decade, the rapid development of fintech has contributed to shaping the future of the financial services industry, including digital transactions, digital services and digital assets.
Especially in the context of Ho Chi Minh City gradually building its position as an international financial center, fintech is identified as one of the four important pillars that need to be developed.
He believes that to build a comprehensive fintech ecosystem, in addition to the participation of veteran businesses, investors, venture funds, reputable brands and political support, the two key factors are high-quality human resources and potential startups.
These are also the two target groups that the ATTACKER 2025 competition focuses on. The competition not only requires solid professional knowledge, but also creativity, organizational skills, disciplined thinking and the ability to transform academic knowledge into practical applications.

The program seeks and supports initiatives with potential for practical application in the fintech field, while creating opportunities for individuals, research groups and businesses to access resources to implement their ideas.
Depending on the development stage, the support funding ranges from 40 million VND in the pre-incubation stage (up to 6 months), 80 million VND in the incubation stage (up to 12 months) and up to 400 million VND in the acceleration stage (up to 12 months).
Ms. Ba hopes that the ideas from the ATTACKER 2025 competition will not stop on paper, but can continue to develop into real start-ups right in the university environment, with the companionship and support from the city's programs.
With the message "Are you an innovator? We're your investors", ATTACKER 2025 focuses on highly innovative and applicable ideas, revolving around six topic groups: technology in business - economics, biometrics, credit scoring - automatic lending, blockchain applications, innovative startup thinking and legal - ethical issues in technology.
