The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued a warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow in Lao Cai and Ha Giang provinces and a 10-day weather forecast for the whole country.

Accordingly, in the past 3 hours (from 6am to 9am on September 21), in Lao Cai and Ha Giang provinces, there was moderate to heavy rain, such as: Phong Hai 164.8mm (Lao Cai); Che La 109.6mm (Ha Giang)...
Warning, in the next 6 hours, in the above provinces, there will continue to be rain with accumulated rainfall from 40-70mm, in some places over 90mm, with a very high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above provinces, especially the following districts:
Ha Giang: Xin Man, Vi Xuyen, Yen Minh, Quan Ba, Bac Me, Hoang Su Phi, Bac Quang, Ha Giang City, Quang Binh.
Lao Cai: Bao Thang, Bac Ha, Muong Khuong, Lao Cai City, Bat Xat, Simacai, Bao Yen, Sa Pa.
The meteorological agency noted that flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
