A series of police units across the country are pioneering the application of Zalo Official Account (OA) and Zalo Mini App to connect with people, improve the efficiency of state management and promote digital transformation.
This is a practical step, demonstrating the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo , towards strengthening management in the digital environment, ensuring seamless connection between political agencies from the central to local levels by 2030.
The Ministry of Public Security has quickly asserted its leading role with the official Zalo OA Page, directly managed by the Ministry's Electronic Information Portal. This channel is not only a source of official and reliable information—constantly updating the security and order situation; propagating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; warning about criminal tricks—but also actively combating false, hostile, and malicious information. Moreover, this Zalo OA page also helps people access information quickly and interact directly with authorities. Combined with the Electronic Information Portal and the official Facebook page, Zalo OA creates a multi-channel communication system of the Ministry of Public Security, both official and close, contributing to building the image of a responsible and friendly police force.
At the local level, the Zalo OA page “ Hanoi Traffic Police Department” is also a vivid example. After just over a year of operation, by February 2025, this channel had received nearly 8,000 traffic violation reports from people. With tens of thousands of followers and thousands of interactions every day, this page not only provides information but also supports the timely and proper handling of traffic violations. Hanoi Police also encourage people to proactively send their reports via Zalo or phone numbers, turning these channels into effective traffic order monitoring tools.
In Thai Binh, the provincial police have just launched the Zalo Mini App “Thai Binh Provincial Police” to improve the quality of public administrative services. People only need to open Zalo on their phones to look up procedures, check file results or contact officers directly for detailed instructions, without having to install additional complicated applications. Major Doan Thi Phuong, an officer of the Immigration Management Department, shared: “This application is useful for both sides: the people and the officers receiving people. People do not have to remember complicated operations, and we understand the actual needs, summarize common difficulties and problems to better support people”. After nearly a month, the application attracted more than 10,000 visits, 8,000 users, and 100% satisfaction feedback through the integrated evaluation feature.
General Secretary To Lam once emphasized: “Science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are the keys for Vietnam to rise up in the new era, becoming a rich and powerful country.” The police force is realizing that vision. By the end of 2024, 63/63 provinces and cities had deployed 17,300 Zalo OA accounts, taking advantage of a familiar platform with 78 million monthly users. From crime warnings, handling traffic violations, to handling administrative procedures, these channels are gradually narrowing the gap between the government and the people.
With the motto “close to the people, for the people,” the police at all levels not only pioneer in applying technology but also turn it into a practical bridge, bringing Vietnam closer to the goal of sustainable development in the new era.
