The Provincial Party Committee announced the decision to merge Ha Giang Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station.

On the morning of April 28, the Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the decision to merge the Ha Giang Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station, as well as the organizational structure and personnel arrangements.

Attending the conference were: Comrade Hau A Lenh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, districts and cities.

At the conference, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Nguyen Minh Tien, announced the Provincial Party Committee's Decision on the merger of Ha Giang Newspaper and Ha Giang Provincial Radio and Television Station into Ha Giang Newspaper. The decision also included the assignment and appointment of the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the merged Ha Giang Newspaper. Comrade Nguyen Trung Thu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper, was assigned and appointed to the position of Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper. Comrades Nguyen Binh Minh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper; Mai Ngoc Quynh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper; Tran Viet Tuyen, Deputy Director of Ha Giang Provincial Radio and Television Station; and Ngo Chien Quang, Deputy Director of Ha Giang Provincial Radio and Television Station, were appointed to the positions of Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper.

Following the merger, Ha Giang Newspaper is a public service unit directly under the Provincial Party Committee; its organizational structure after the merger includes one editorial board and nine subordinate departments: Organization and Administration Department; Current Affairs Department; Special Topics Department; Secretariat and Editorial Department; Electronic Newspaper and Digital Content Department; Arts and Entertainment Department; Ethnic Affairs Department; Broadcasting and Transmission Department; and Technical and Program Production Department. After the merger, one public service unit directly under the province was eliminated, and seven departmental-level units were reduced, achieving a reduction rate of 43.75%.

Next, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Nguyen Minh Tien, also announced the Decision of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee regarding the transfer of Comrade Hoang Thi Hang from her position as Director of Ha Giang Radio and Television Station and her appointment as Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Hau A Lenh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, congratulated the two agencies on fulfilling their political mission over a long period. He acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the two agencies over many terms, which have significantly helped the province successfully implement its economic and social development tasks.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Leng requested that, after the merger, the Ha Giang Newspaper should promptly stabilize its facilities and working conditions; stabilize the morale and spirit of its staff and officials so that they can immediately begin work without interruption. Along with that, the restructuring and streamlining of the organization must be truly objective and transparent. This should be linked to understanding the concerns and effectively addressing the benefits and policies for the staff during the restructuring and streamlining process. For newly appointed officials, it is necessary to promote exemplary leadership, build a united and cohesive leadership team, and serve as a role model for the staff and officials to follow.

The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department now has an additional leader with experience in journalism and propaganda work. It is necessary to promptly assign suitable tasks so that this comrade can quickly familiarize himself with the work and successfully complete the assigned duties.

On behalf of the newly assigned, transferred, and appointed colleagues, Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper Nguyen Trung Thu expressed gratitude for the attention of the provincial leaders and especially the Provincial Party Secretary for their trust and assignment of duties. He affirmed that the newly established Ha Giang Newspaper will be a major media outlet of the province, fulfilling the mission of being the mouthpiece of the Party, the voice of the government, and the people of all ethnic groups in the province. To accomplish this great mission in the current situation, journalists must constantly strive to improve, train, and perfect themselves, keeping pace with the trends of modern journalism. Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Trung Thu pledged to promote the spirit of unity, innovation, and creativity to successfully complete the assigned tasks; and expressed his hope to continue receiving the attention and cooperation of the provincial departments and agencies to ensure the Ha Giang Newspaper successfully fulfills its assigned duties.
