General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the contribution to the historic victory in 1975 was thanks to the wholehearted support and effective assistance of brotherly countries and international friends, especially the shoulder-to-shoulder, "sharing the good times and the bad," and the pure and consistent loyalty of the Lao Party, State and people.

In particular, Laos allowed Vietnam to open the Ho Chi Minh trail on Lao soil, creating conditions for Vietnamese troops to enter the South, changing the situation on the southern battlefield, contributing to the general offensive and uprising in the Spring of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

Vietnam always appreciates the sentiments and will never forget the valuable, sincere and wholehearted help and support of the Lao Party, State and people.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam will do its utmost, together with Laos, to continue to foster, protect and preserve the Vietnam-Laos relationship so that it can develop more and more strongly and bear fruit, for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, independence, democracy and progress in the region and the world.

General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith highly appreciated Vietnam for organizing the grand celebration and Laos was very happy and honored to send a delegation to participate in the parade in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the common success, demonstrating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
