On May 20, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin had a working session with Mr. Michael Croft, Chief Representative of the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Mozambique.
At the meeting, Mr. Michael Croft welcomed Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin to Mozambique to take up her duties at an important time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mozambique diplomatic relations (June 25, 1975 - June 25, 2025) and wished the Ambassador a successful term of office, actively contributing to the development of bilateral relations.
The UNESCO Chief Representative shared his good feelings towards the country and people of Vietnam during his time working as the UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam from 2017-2021, highly appreciated the good cooperation results between Vietnam and UNESCO, especially in the field of preserving and promoting cultural values and heritage, and expressed his impression of the role and contributions of Vietnam as an active and responsible member country of UNESCO.

Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin congratulated Mr. Michael Croft on his successful tenure in Vietnam, making positive contributions to the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and UNESCO.
Affirming that Vietnam highly appreciates the role of UNESCO in maintaining peace , security, promoting sustainable development and international cooperation, and that Vietnam is always a reliable, active and responsible partner of UNESCO, the Ambassador expressed his wish to continue to closely coordinate with the UNESCO Office in Mozambique, strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the three parties of Vietnam, Mozambique and UNESCO in the fields of education, science and culture.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to study and implement a number of cooperation initiatives to connect and share Vietnam's experiences and successful lessons with Mozambique's partners in coordinating with UNESCO to preserve and promote cultural and heritage values, towards sustainable and harmonious development in terms of economy, environment, culture and society.
