The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Director of the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, and many students and teachers from schools with contestants participating in the contest.
The 2025 International Russian Language Olympiad for Vietnamese students is organized by the Pushkin Institute under the Department of International Cooperation in collaboration with the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language (Russian Federation), with the support of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The competition started in September 2025 with two rounds: qualifying round and final round. In this year's Olympic qualifying round, more than 700 students from the North - Central - South regions competed in three categories: Vocabulary - Grammar, Reading and Writing online.
Based on the results of the qualifying round, 100 candidates were selected to compete in the final round taking place from November 30 to December 1, in the form of direct exams in two parts: writing and speaking at the headquarters of the Pushkin Institute, Hanoi .
At the final round and award ceremony, based on the results of the Final Round, the contest's Jury announced 6 winning contestants (3 contestants from high schools and 3 contestants from universities and academies).
At the ceremony, the 6 winners were awarded Olympic medals, award certificates and scholarships to participate in the “Summer Language Internship Course” at the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language in the summer of 2026.
This year's contest continues to contribute to promoting the Russian language as well as learning and teaching Russian in Vietnam; encouraging and increasing motivation to learn Russian and study abroad in the Russian Federation for Vietnamese students.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, emphasized that the Award Ceremony not only honored the outstanding achievements of students and teachers but also was a vivid demonstration of the traditional friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Russia - a relationship that has been sustainably nurtured on the foundation of profound educational cooperation.
The International Russian Language Olympiad for Foreign Students has a history of more than 40 years and is the world's most prestigious playground for Russian language proficiency and knowledge of Russian culture.
In Vietnam, this competition is organized with close coordination between the Pushkin Institute in Hanoi, Russian specialized universities and support from the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.
According to the Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, with the participation of more than 700 Vietnamese students nationwide, the contest is of great significance in promoting the teaching and learning of Russian, contributing to enhancing cultural and educational exchanges between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
This is not only a place to test language knowledge but also a bridge for students to discover the beauty of great Russian culture, from the immortal works of Pushkin and Tolstoy to the heroic historical heritage of the Russian people.
The successful results of today's competition are the result of close cooperation and efforts from both Russia and Vietnam, including experts and lecturers from the AS Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, the Pushkin Branch in Hanoi and the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Hanoi.
"Hopefully, the experiences at the contest will become valuable assets, nurturing the love of Russian and opening up opportunities for study, research and international cooperation at leading universities in Russia. The Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam is committed to accompanying schools, teachers and students in seeking and expanding training opportunities abroad," Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung pointed out.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich said that many former Vietnamese students who studied in the former Soviet Union and Russia today hold high positions and are successful in their fields.
Affirming that Russian universities are ready to create conditions for Vietnamese students to become highly qualified experts in their chosen fields, Mr. Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich emphasized that in May 2025, the two sides signed an agreement to establish the Pushkin Russian Language Center in Vietnam, and the Russian side will also continue to increase lecturers, programs and educational activities at the center.
In addition, Deputy Minister Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilich congratulated the six winners. In the summer of 2026, the Olympic winners will have the opportunity to attend a one-month course at the AX Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in Moscow. The summer course is expected to be an important step in their personal and professional development.
For his part, Mr. Nikita Vladimirovich Gusev, Director of the AX Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, expressed his joy at the scale and quality of this year's competition.
According to him, within the framework of the 3rd Russian Language Olympiad final round, the Organizing Committee has organized seminars to share modern teaching methods for Vietnamese teachers, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning Russian.

In addition, unable to hide her honor of being the first prize winner of the 3rd International Russian Olympiad for Vietnamese students, Phan Le Kim Chi, a first-year student at the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared that her love for Russian came from her family and her achievements today are thanks to the support of the lecturers at the University of Foreign Languages.
The contest is an important turning point that helps me gain more confidence in pursuing my dream of becoming a Russian teacher, continuing to pass on my passion to the next generation.
In addition to the 6 winning contestants, the Jury also nominated and awarded 7 additional prizes to contestants whose performances demonstrated their love and passion for learning Russian.
