Sacombank accompanies to support people in flood-affected areas

Responding to the spirit of "mutual love and support", recently, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) has carried out many activities to support people in areas affected by floods, contributing with the authorities and people of the provinces to overcome the consequences of floods and soon stabilize their lives.

On the morning of December 5, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee organized a reception of funds to support disaster recovery from Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Sacombank ). Attending the reception were comrades: Ho Xuan Truong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Thu Mai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. On the side of Sacombank, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung - Acting General Director of Sacombank was the head of the delegation.

At the reception, Sacombank donated 500 million VND to Khanh Hoa province to support people to overcome the damage caused by the recent floods. Khanh Hoa province's leaders thanked the attention and sharing of Sacombank's leaders, staff and employees for the people of Khanh Hoa who suffered from floods; at the same time, they informed about the damage situation and the work to overcome the consequences, supporting people to soon restore their lives, production and business. Currently, the province is also focusing on implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign" to build houses for households in the province whose houses were completely collapsed due to natural disasters. Khanh Hoa province's leaders pledged to promptly allocate support resources, publicly, transparently, for the right purpose, to the right subjects, to help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives in a timely manner.

The widespread floods in October and November in the Central Highlands and some northern localities caused great damage to people and property, seriously affecting people's lives. In this situation, the Government, organizations, businesses and the community have joined hands to implement many emergency support measures to help localities overcome difficulties. In addition to supporting Khanh Hoa province, Sacombank also donated VND500 million to Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Hue and Da Nang provinces, each province to promptly support people to overcome the damage. Previously, during the historic flood in Thai Nguyen province, Sacombank supported VND1 billion through the Provincial Relief Fund and gave necessities worth VND300 million to people in communes and wards that suffered heavy damage. In addition, Sacombank's Trade Union also spent more than VND1.2 billion to share difficulties with officials and union members affected by floods.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung - Acting General Director of Sacombank said that social security is one of the focuses in Sacombank's sustainable development strategy. Along with accompanying customers and contributing to economic development, Sacombank always proactively participates in community support programs, accompanying the Government and localities in practical programs aimed at the community.
