- On the morning of June 20, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 30-NQ/TU dated June 3, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on sustainable forestry development in Lang Son province for the period 2021-2030. Comrade Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors, and units; leaders of districts and cities; representatives of typical companies, businesses, and households operating in the forestry sector in the province.
According to the report at the conference, in recent years, all levels and sectors in the province have actively and synchronously deployed solutions to implement the resolution and achieved positive results. Specifically, from 2021 to June 2025, the afforestation area in the province reached 44,921.1 hectares (an average of over 9,000 hectares/year), of which large timber forest plantation was 7,055 hectares, scattered green tree planting reached over 3 million trees/year, the targets of forest regeneration, forest care, and forest protection all completed the assigned plan. Concentrated raw material production areas continue to be maintained and developed. Up to now, most of the concentrated raw material production areas have exceeded the planned targets for the period 2020 - 2025, including: 46,167.84 ha of anise area, 138,542.48 ha of pine area, 55,945.67 ha of acacia area..., initially forming many chains linking production and consumption of forestry products.
Regarding forest exploitation in the province, it continues to be closely managed and monitored according to the provisions of law. In the period of 2021 - 2025, people and businesses exploited 2,107,856.82 m3 of wood (exceeding the plan by 20.4%); more than 200,000 tons of pine resin (exceeding the plan by 34.1%); over 5,000 tons of cinnamon bark (exceeding the plan by 68.4%)... Regarding the work of developing sustainable forest management plans and granting forest certificates, up to now, the whole province has 6 forest owners who are organizations developing and implementing sustainable forest management plans with a total area of 28,900.58 ha; granting 4 types of forest certificates with a total area of 15,136.06 ha (exceeding the plan by 202%).
In addition, forestry seed management, forest protection management, forest fire prevention and fighting, and application of science and technology in the forestry sector have also been strengthened by all levels and specialized units, contributing to improving production efficiency and growth of the forestry sector...
At the conference, delegates discussed and presented related contents such as: forestry seed management; developing sustainable forest management plans, granting forest certificates; improving the operational efficiency of production and consumption chains of forestry products; developing non-timber forest products under the forest canopy; policy mechanisms, mobilizing and effectively using funds to carry out forest protection and development tasks... At the same time, delegates focused on clarifying some difficulties and limitations, thereby proposing solutions for implementation in the coming time.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the efforts and results of all levels and sectors in implementing Resolution 30-NQ/TU.
He suggested that in the coming time, all levels, sectors, and People's Committees of districts and cities continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Resolution 30-NQ/TU and the Sustainable Forestry Development Project, review and advise on adjusting targets and tasks for the 2026-2030 period to suit the actual situation and newly issued national and provincial plans; improve the effectiveness of state management, especially in planning, management, and use of forestry land; complete the development of forest allocation and lease plans in sync with land use plans; focus on resolving disputes and encroachment on forest land; promote restructuring of the forestry sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development; strongly attract investment resources, especially investment in deep processing industry of wood products and non-timber forest products.
At the same time, all levels, sectors, and People's Committees of districts and cities continue to effectively implement the support mechanisms and policies of the Central Government and the province, especially policies on credit, investment incentives, and production linkage support; strengthen the application of science and technology in all stages from breeding, planting, care, exploitation, protection to forest product processing; promote propaganda work, raise awareness and sense of responsibility of cadres, party members and people for sustainable forestry development.
On this occasion, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 30-NQ/TU dated June 3, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on sustainable forestry development in Lang Son province for the period 2021 - 2030 were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and certificates of merit by the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
