On January 9, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a conference to review trade union work in 2024 and outline tasks for 2025.
Attending the conference were Chairman of VietnamEducation Trade Union Nguyen Ngoc An, representatives of leaders of units under and directly under the Ministry of Education and Training, and members of grassroots and affiliated trade unions.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training Trinh Hoai Thu said: Under the leadership of the Party Executive Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the collective Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2024 has carried out key tasks, ensuring the proposed work program, with quality, efficiency, proactiveness, flexibility, and suitability to actual conditions.
The Ministry of Education and Training's Trade Union has also directed grassroots and affiliated trade unions to carry out trade union tasks, closely monitor, urge, support and promptly encourage union members in difficult circumstances. At the same time, encourage union members to both ensure professional work and actively respond to activities in response to major holidays of the year, exchange and learn experiences from unions outside the unit.

Reporting on the activities of the Ministry's Trade Union in 2024, Vice Chairman of the Ministry's Trade Union Nguyen Sinh Thanh informed: As of January 1, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training's Trade Union has 9 grassroots trade unions, 18 affiliated trade unions with a total of 839 union members. The staff and union members of the Ministry of Education and Training have strong political will, moral qualities, capacity and professional qualifications, basically meeting the requirements of performing the tasks of the Education and Training sector in the new period.
In 2024, the Ministry's Trade Union and its affiliated trade unions closely followed the Resolution of the Congress for the 2023-2028 term, the Resolution of the 2024 Conference of Civil Servants of the Ministry, the 2024 Work Program and the direction of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Ministry's Party Committee and grassroots Party committees to lead, direct, organize the implementation and basically complete the 2024 tasks according to the set work program.

The Union has focused on activities to protect the legitimate rights and interests, care for the material and spiritual life of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, and create conditions for each union member to strive to fulfill their assigned tasks.
The Standing Committee of the Ministry's Trade Union has maintained a regular monthly meeting schedule to actively and effectively direct and implement trade union activities. Emulation movements and activities of trade union organizations in the Ministry have become increasingly in-depth, diverse, flexible and self-renewed in accordance with reality. The organization and implementation have been effective, creating a democratic, united, responsible working environment, promoting professional activities.

Although many results have been achieved in implementing trade union work, in 2024, the advisory work of some units was not effective; the implementation of tasks and programs was not drastic, not closely following the direction of the higher-level trade union, which partly affected the effectiveness of the work. In addition, inspection and self-inspection work at some grassroots and affiliated trade unions were not carried out regularly; the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations and workplace culture regulations was still vague.
In 2025, the Ministry's Trade Union will continue to propagate the Party's guidelines, policies, and resolutions, and the State's laws and policies; organize practical and effective activities to celebrate major holidays in 2025; continue to closely follow the functions and tasks of the Trade Union organization, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; continue to direct affiliated trade unions to develop regulations for coordination with professional peers, conduct training and fostering to improve the quality of trade union cadres, focus on innovating methods and ways of mobilizing and organizing activities towards trade union members.

The Ministry of Education and Training's Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals in trade union work in 2024.
Appreciating and recognizing the contributions of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training, Chairman of the Vietnam Education Trade Union Nguyen Ngoc An commented: To have a strong and sustainable development of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training, there must be the wholehearted contribution of the grassroots trade unions, affiliated trade unions and especially the union members. Although the professional work is very busy, they always care, take care and contribute to the work of the union. That is both the responsibility and the concern of the union members.
On this occasion, the Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to 13 collectives and 50 individuals who excelled in trade union work in 2024.
