Total seafood output in the first quarter reached over 18,200 tons

Favorable weather creates favorable conditions for fishermen to stay at sea to exploit aquatic products.

Since the beginning of the year, due to favorable weather conditions, fishermen have been actively going offshore. In the first quarter, the output of aquatic products reached over 16,084 tons, up 2.5% over the same period; the output of aquaculture reached over 2,148 tons, up 3% over the same period.

Head of the Department of Fisheries, Seas, Islands and Fisheries Control Le Ngoc Linh said: In the coming time, the unit will continue to monitor weather developments, direct fishermen to organize safe, effective and regulated exploitation. For the aquaculture sector, the department will direct localities and units to promote stocking and care for farmed species; effectively implement the 2025 farming season, especially models of marine farming, farming in rivers and reservoirs.

In addition, the unit will coordinate with functional units and localities to strengthen the inspection of aquatic diseases, strictly control breeds produced in the area and breeds imported from other provinces; detect and strictly handle cases of poor quality breeds.
