The head of the guard of honor welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife on a state visit to Kazakhstan. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Kazakhstan. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev then invited General Secretary To Lam to inspect the guard of honor.

Afterwards, the two leaders had a closed-door meeting and led high-ranking delegations from the two countries to hold talks.

Earlier this morning, General Secretary To Lam attended the Vietnam - Kazakhstan business roundtable discussion.

Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev said that the relationship between the two countries has achieved great achievements in all fields. However, economic, trade and investment cooperation remains modest, failing to promote potential, strengths and needs.

Kazakhstan has many favorable opportunities for Vietnamese investors interested in establishing joint ventures in agricultural production and processing as well as applying water-saving technology and innovation in agriculture to improve production efficiency; digital transformation and innovation; and digital infrastructure development.

As one of the advanced countries in the field of information technology services, Kazakhstan proposed to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in developing e-government, exchanging advanced experiences, deploying new generation digital services and integrating artificial intelligence into the state management process.

Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev called on Vietnamese partners to make the most of the existing potential to develop business in Kazakhstan. The Government of Kazakhstan is committed to being a reliable and stable partner; believing that the cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop, opening up new opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations, expand trade and promote innovation.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the relationship between the two countries is increasingly being strengthened. Vietnam and Kazakhstan both have open economies, with exports playing an important role, and the ability to adapt to international trade principles.

Both countries are members of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, which is a favorable condition for the two countries to strengthen cooperation, deepen economic and trade relations, and promote growth in two-way trade turnover.

Major Vietnamese airlines are promoting direct flights from Vietnam to Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is successfully operating an international financial center in Astana, while Vietnam is also building financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

The General Secretary said that Vietnam is committed to creating all favorable conditions for Kazakhstani investors to invest and do business successfully in Vietnam.
