On May 13, at the headquarters of the Slovakian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Truong Giang met and worked with Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár.
At the reception, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang emphasized that Vietnam values the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Slovakia, expressing his belief that the bilateral relationship has much potential for further development in the coming time.
Pleased with the local government's official recognition of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia as the 14th ethnic minority community in 2023 with core members being former students, interns, researchers, and workers in the former Czechoslovakia, part of which is now Slovakia, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang hopes that Slovakia will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate, develop stably and make positive contributions to the socio -economy while acting as a sustainable bridge to promote the friendly relations between the two countries.

Congratulating Vietnam on its outstanding socio-economic achievements and growing international prestige over the past time, Minister Juraj Blanár affirmed that Slovakia considers Vietnam a leading important partner in Asia and has an important role in ASEAN; sharing his assessment of the potential for expanding cooperation in many fields such as economy, tourism, nuclear energy, and defense industry.
Minister Juraj Blanár was pleased to announce the positive results of the meeting between the two countries' senior leaders in Moscow on the occasion of the recent anniversary, agreeing to promote relations, increase delegation exchanges at all levels, sectors, localities and people-to-people exchanges; wishing to work with Vietnam to upgrade the bilateral relationship to a new level; apply visa exemption for Slovak citizens as with many other European countries; and in the immediate future, propose that the two sides resume meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee to effectively exploit the potential for cooperation.
The two sides agreed to maintain coordination in organizing practical commemorative activities in 2025; promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level delegation exchanges, to enhance political trust; expand and promote the signing of cooperation agreements in areas of mutual interest; study ways to simplify procedures for legalizing documents and exempting entry visas to the two countries; create favorable conditions and effectively utilize Vietnam's hard-working, high-quality labor force.
On this occasion, Mr. Blanár thanked Vietnam for supporting Slovakia's candidacy for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and expressed his wish to continue cooperating with Vietnam in supporting each other's candidacies in other important international mechanisms such as the Human Rights Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Economic and Social Council, and the Universal Postal Union Governing Council.
