On May 28, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations held a "Conference on international news, world people's movements and people's diplomacy", affirming the important role of people's diplomacy.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Nam Hai emphasized that people-to-people diplomacy continues to affirm its role as one of the three pillars of comprehensive diplomacy , alongside Party diplomacy and State diplomacy.

People-to-people diplomacy activities in recent times have actively contributed to strengthening friendly relations, promoting mutual understanding between the Vietnamese people and international friends, while consolidating a peaceful environment and mobilizing resources for national development.

However, the Conference stated that despite many achievements in recent times, people-to-people diplomacy still has certain limitations: The quality of some activities is still low; research and strategic consulting activities are still lacking in general; the capacity of staff has not met requirements...

Therefore, the Conference emphasized that in the coming time, people-to-people diplomacy needs to focus on strengthening relations with partners, continuing to promote international cooperation to mobilize and utilize resources to serve the goal of socio-economic development, and strengthening the dissemination of information related to major events of the country to affirm the stature, historical value and significance of these events.

In addition to the content on people's diplomacy, the conference also provided important, comprehensive and systematic information on the current world situation; clarified the foreign policy orientations and policies of the Party and State in the new period; and analyzed the outstanding developments in the world people's movement.

Fully grasping information and clearly understanding the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines are important in the context of a complex world situation with many intertwined challenges, from geopolitical conflicts, strategic competition between major countries to global issues such as climate change, epidemics and food security.

After more than 3 hours of serious, open-minded and responsible work, the "Conference on international news, world people's movements and people's foreign affairs" was a great success, meeting expectations.
