President Zelenskyy will speak at the Shangri-La Dialogue today

The organizer, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), confirmed on Saturday that Mr. Zelenskyy will participate in the 7th plenary session of the Shangri-La Dialogue, titled “Reshaping Solutions for Global Peace and Regional Stability.”

The IISS also said on Saturday that Mr Zelenskyy would attend in person as he seeks to rally support for Ukraine amid its troubled war with Russia.

“Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s presence at the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue comes at a crucial time. We are eagerly awaiting his remarks,” said IISS Director General Bastian Giegerich. The session will begin at 11:30 a.m. Singapore time and will be streamed live on the IISS website and YouTube channel.

Mr. Zelenskyy had arrived in Singapore on Saturday evening. According to a U.S. official, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will also meet Mr. Zelenskyy and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Sunday on the sidelines of the summit.

Mr. Zelenskyy is expected to persuade representatives of countries present at the Shangri-La Dialogue to attend and support the Ukraine Peace Summit in Switzerland, scheduled to take place from June 15 to 16.

The Ukrainian leader posted on X that he will also hold meetings with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta and several others.

The Shangri-La Dialogue is Asia's premier defense conference to discuss key security challenges in the Asia -Pacific . Security assistance to Ukraine was one of the key issues discussed at this year's dialogue.

The dialogue, organized annually by the IISS in Singapore, started on Friday and ended on Sunday.
