Ho Chi Minh City has rain in the midst of the heat wave, a tropical depression appears near the East Sea

Many people in Districts 5; 6; 10; 11... were quite surprised when, in the midst of the hot weather, at around 2 p.m. the sky started to cloud over and about 30 minutes later it started to rain. Although it was a series of thunderstorms with not too much rain, it more or less dispelled the intense heat of the past few days.

Thunderstorms lasted for about 30 minutes in many districts.

According to the weather report released at 2 p.m. on May 5 by the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the general weather trend in the whole region is still hot with common temperatures of 35 - 37.5 degrees Celsius. It is forecasted that in the next 24 - 48 hours, the hot weather will continue and will last until the end of May 8.

Currently, near the East Sea, in the eastern area of Palawan Island (Philippines), a tropical depression is appearing. At 13:00 (5.5), the center of the tropical depression was at about 10.1 degrees north latitude; 119.1 degrees east longitude. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39 - 49 km/h), gusting to level 8.

Tropical depression will enter the East Sea but is not forecast to strengthen into a storm.

The tropical depression is moving slowly in a west-northwest direction; on May 6 and 7 it will affect the central and southern East Sea. The sea area from Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to Kien Giang will have southwest winds of level 3-4, wave height from 0.5 - 1.5m.

Ho Chi Minh City has variable clouds, afternoon showers and thunderstorms in some places. During thunderstorms, beware of strong gusts of wind and tornadoes.

Master Le Thi Xuan Lan, a hydrometeorological expert, said: According to different forecast models, this tropical depression is unlikely to strengthen into a storm and will weaken when it approaches the coast of Quang Ngai - Quang Nam . However, fishermen at sea need to pay attention to bad weather, especially in the southern sea.
