Ho Chi Minh City announces exam schedule for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia School

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just officially announced the exam schedule for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1). Accordingly, the enrollment target is 10 classes with 350 students.

Admission objects: Students who have completed primary school program in Ho Chi Minh City and have a score of 9 or higher in the final exam of each subject of Vietnamese and math in grade 5.

Admission requirements: Age of students entering grade 6 is 11 years old (according to valid birth certificate).

- For students who are allowed to skip a grade in the previous level or students who enter a level at an age higher than the prescribed age, the age for entering grade 6 will be reduced or increased based on the age of the year of graduation from the previous level.

- Ethnic minority students, disabled students, students in especially difficult circumstances, and students returning from abroad can enter school at an age 3 years older than the prescribed age.

Admission method: Admission by survey method to test and evaluate students' abilities.

- After filling out the registration information, the system will send the "Survey Registration Form" file to the email address of the registered student's parents.

- Parents download the application, print, sign and attach a photo of the student (3x4 photo, wearing school uniform) to bring with them when receiving the survey attendance card at school.

90-minute aptitude test, consisting of 2 parts:

+ Multiple choice part: 20 multiple choice questions (do in 30 minutes).

+ Essay section (done in 60 minutes) includes 3 parts:

- English proficiency test (listening, reading, writing): Students take the test in English.

- Survey of mathematical ability and logical thinking: Students do the test in Vietnamese.

- Reading comprehension and writing skills test: students do the test in Vietnamese.

- Students take the competency test on June 16, 2025.
