In round 24, coach Vu Hong Viet's team will face host Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) at 6 p.m. on May 26 ( FPT Play). With their current strength, winning 3 points in Vinh is not a difficult task for the reigning V-League champions.

Home audience support

Nam Dinh FC is considered to have the best foreign players this season. In addition, the difference in class between the reserve and main players is not large, helping Mr. Vu Hong Viet have more options to build the squad and maintain stable performance in the final stage of the season.

Before entering round 24, Nam Dinh Club had a streak of 10 unbeaten matches, including 7 wins. Unlike the wobble in the first leg, Nam Dinh gradually showed its position as a championship candidate when it had convincing victories against worthy opponents in the race to the finish line. Defeating Hanoi FC, Thanh Hoa, The Cong Viettel , Binh Duong... helped coach Vu Hong Viet and his team accelerate strongly, firmly establishing the top position in the table.

In this season's V-League, Nam Dinh FC has 9 wins and 1 draw after 12 home matches. The enthusiastic support of the Southern audience also contributed significantly to this achievement. With an average audience of nearly 10,000 people per match, Thien Truong Stadium is always the most exciting "hot spot" in the V-League this season. Even the top matches between the home team and the championship candidates witnessed the stands packed with seats, with the number of viewers reaching 20,000 - 22,000 (rounds 22 and 23).

At the end of the season, the Nam Dinh Club's board of directors decided to extend the contracts of a series of key players. They are the ones who have contributed to filling the stands of Thien Truong Stadium, such as: Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Van Vi, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Hong Duy, Nguyen Manh, Thanh Hao, Hoang Anh or Lucas Alves...

Notably, Nam Dinh is also the team with the most goals in the V-League this season with 45 goals after 22 rounds. More impressively, the team's attacking efficiency does not depend too much on the strength of foreign players like in previous seasons. Statistics show that Nguyen Xuan Son leads with 7 goals, Hoang Anh ranks behind with 5 goals, Joseph Mpande has 4 goals - 1 goal more than teammates Van Toan, Van Vi, Brenner...

Surprises can still happen

If they win against SLNA and Hanoi does not win in round 24, Nam Dinh Club will win the V-League 2 rounds early.

Many experts predict this result could happen. Because in the first leg, Nam Dinh crushed SLNA with a score of 4-1, and Hanoi FC was held to a draw in the capital derby against Hanoi Police Club.

However, surprises can still happen when teams step up to win the championship or stay in the league. SLNA is in the group at risk of relegation and is determined to accumulate maximum points in the remaining 3 rounds. Although the Nghe An team no longer has a strong force, it is still a formidable opponent in the most prestigious national playground.

Meanwhile, Hanoi Police Club has secured its place in the league and has almost lost its chance of winning the V-League championship as Nam Dinh is far behind in points. The police team will focus on preparing for the upcoming National Cup semi-finals.

Hanoi FC no longer has the right to decide but still hopes to turn things around at the end of the season. The capital team's goal is to win the final rounds and wait for Nam Dinh to "stumble" to return to the "throne" of V-League. Although the hope is slim, Hanoi FC is confident that they will win the capital derby in round 24 to rekindle the opportunity to be crowned V-League champion.

If they win the V-League this season, Nam Dinh Club will participate in two international tournaments next season, including a direct ticket to the Asian Cup C2 and the Southeast Asian Cup C1.
