Ho Chi Minh City established the Steering Committee for Import-Export Development.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just decided to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee on Import-Export Development, in order to strengthen coordination, remove difficulties and promote the City's commodity competitiveness by 2030.

Establishment of Steering Committee and Working Group

According to the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Steering Committee for Import-Export Development consists of 14 members, with Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, as Head of the Committee; Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, as Deputy Head of the Committee.

The Steering Committee's Working Group has 16 members, headed by Ms. To Ngoc Lan, Head of the International Economic Department - Department of Industry and Trade. The Department of Industry and Trade is the standing body of the Steering Committee.

Strengthening coordination and support for export enterprises

The Steering Committee is responsible for advising, developing and implementing key programs and solutions for the City's import-export development until 2030; monitoring the export situation, promptly proposing mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and improve competitiveness for businesses.

This agency will also direct the construction of a database and digital map of businesses and export industries; monitor and warn of international trade risks, such as trade defense, tax imposition or technical barriers.

Promoting green transformation and linking export regions

The Steering Committee will coordinate the implementation of trade promotion programs, brand development, green transformation, digital transformation and logistics for export; at the same time promote regional connectivity and expand sustainable export markets.

Periodically, the Steering Committee will evaluate performance, report to the City People's Committee and propose appropriate adjustments for each stage.

- Head of the Committee: Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
- Standing agency: Department of Industry and Trade.
- Goal: Developing import and export of Ho Chi Minh City by 2030, towards sustainability and integration.
