HCMC: Parents hug and encourage their children before the 10th grade Literature exam

TPO - More than 76,400 candidates began the public 10th grade exam on the morning of June 6. Before the exam, many parents gave hugs and warm kisses to encourage the candidates.

Since early morning, many candidates have been present at the examination sites to prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, with the first subject being Literature lasting 120 minutes.

Many students were very confident before the exam because they had prepared thoroughly. This year, the 10th grade pass rate was about 91%, the highest rate ever.

Outside the school, the exam support team was present to support the candidates.

Outside the Hung Vuong High School exam site (District 5), a parent hugs and encourages his son before entering the exam.

Another parent gave water and many instructions to the child.

Many students take the opportunity to eat and drink before entering the first exam.

Some students took the opportunity to review social essay questions before entering the exam room.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Literature exam will be designed to cover a wide range of topics, and will be designed to assess the ability to read and understand various types of texts and write. For all three subjects, this year's exam will reduce the proportion of comprehension questions to 60% instead of 70-75% as in previous years. Questions requiring application will increase to 40%, in line with the goal of assessing students according to the 2018 general education program.

This afternoon (June 6), candidates will take the Foreign Language exam, lasting 90 minutes. On June 7, they will take the Math exam for 120 minutes. Those who wish to enter specialized classes will take an additional exam of the corresponding subject, lasting 150 minutes.

In order to accompany candidates and parents in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2025-2026 school year, Tien Phong Newspaper organizes a series of livestreams suggesting solutions and commenting on exam questions in Literature, English and Math.

- Runner-up Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Runner-up Miss Vietnam 2022, Runner-up Miss Intercontinental 2023.
