On the afternoon of August 21, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City said that in order to ensure traffic safety and urban beauty during the peak holiday season, the Department has just issued an urgent directive to the People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones, BOT project investors and many units managing traffic, electricity and water infrastructure in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of wards and communes and BOT investors are required to urgently inspect and repair damaged road surfaces and traffic signal systems; increase street cleaning, especially in areas of hospitals, schools, and industrial parks. At toll stations, investors must arrange forces to handle ETC system incidents and promptly release stations when congestion occurs.
For roads under construction, the Department of Construction requires construction units to install warning systems, night lighting, and 24/7 traffic control forces, and to clean up inside and outside the fence. Construction sites that have been completed but not yet handed over must also promptly repair damage and clean up the road surface.
The Department of Construction's Specialized Inspection Department has strengthened inspections and strictly handled the situation of illegal waste discharge and material gathering; required investors to clean up and reinforce construction site barriers to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles.
In particular, the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center and its affiliated units must strengthen maintenance and repair of median strips, islands, traffic lights, and sign systems; handle points at risk of accidents and congestion, especially at the city gateway, highways, National Highway 1, National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van and areas around Tan Son Nhat Airport, Mien Dong and Mien Tay Bus Stations.
At the same time, traffic management centers are assigned to monitor traffic light systems, surveillance cameras, promptly update information on electronic boards and the city's traffic information portal, and receive feedback from people 24/7 via hotline 1022 and hotline 0388.247.247.

For the Saigon River Tunnel, the authorities will be on duty 24/7, ensuring the safety of the equipment system, preventing fire and explosion, and coordinating with the police to control security and order in the tunnel area and surrounding areas.
In addition, the Inland Waterways Port Authority is also assigned to coordinate with units to deploy safety measures at Truong Tho port area, especially during the peak holiday season.
With synchronous solutions, the Department of Construction and other units expect to ensure smooth and safe traffic, while maintaining urban hygiene and beauty to serve residents and tourists during the upcoming holidays.
