Bus driver fined for climbing onto sidewalk

On October 7, through social networks, the An Suong Traffic Police Team (under the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police) recorded images of a bus traveling on Nguyen Van Bua Street driving onto the sidewalk to overtake slow-moving vehicles.

After verification, the An Suong Traffic Police team invited the driver involved to the unit's headquarters for questioning. The driver of the bus with license plate 51B-309.xx on the An Suong - Hau Nghia route that was reported on social media was Mr. NVB, born in 1978, residing in Tay Ninh province.

Mr. B said that at noon on October 7, he was driving a bus on Nguyen Van Bua Street, Xuan Thoi Son Commune, Ho Chi Minh City. When approaching the intersection, because the road was crowded and he was afraid of being late, he drove the bus up the curb to pass other vehicles.

An Suong Traffic Police Team has drawn up an administrative violation report against Mr. B. for the act of "driving a car on the sidewalk".
