On April 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety (FSS) issued a plan to conduct a thematic inspection of law enforcement in the field of food safety. The inspection period will take place from April 21 to May 30.
Accordingly, the Department of Food Safety established inspection teams to inspect food production and trading establishments.
In particular, focusing on products/product groups and production and trading facilities of products/product groups: Processed milk, nutritional products, food supplements, medical nutritional foods, foods for special diets...
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, this specialized inspection activity aims to strengthen management and supervision of food production and trading establishments, promptly detect and strictly handle violations.
During the inspection, the Inspection Team will take samples of products showing signs of quality and food safety violations and send samples for testing.
Sampling and testing criteria are decided by the Head of the inspection team based on the actual situation of food safety risks at the inspected location.
The inspection team will conduct inspections of the following contents: Business registration certificate, certificate of food safety qualified facility meeting good manufacturing practices, certificate of food safety qualified facility, product declaration registration dossier, food safety conditions at the facility...
In addition, check advertising documents, records confirming advertising content according to regulations, compliance with legal provisions on food advertising.
