From December 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will host December activities with the theme "Highland Market - Welcoming the New Year 2025". The activities will be attended by nearly 200 ethnic people from many localities.
A notable highlight in December is the program "Welcome New Year 2025" with many activities such as: Re-enacting the Tet Nao Pe Chau of the Mong people, Dien Bien province, introducing to visitors a beauty in the traditional Tet that has existed for a long time, associated with the belief in worshiping animism and ancestor worship of the Mong people.
Accordingly, in addition to enjoying the Tet atmosphere of the Mong people, visitors also have the opportunity to learn and explore intangible cultural heritage through the Tet rituals of the Mong people; enjoy traditional cuisine , admire the beauty of traditional costumes of the Mong people; listen to the sound of panpipes, flutes and folk songs, folk dances and folk games of the Mong people through the folk song and dance program "Mong Village happily welcomes Tet".
Many unique cultural and artistic activities were also held in December to welcome the new year 2025 such as: Folk song and dance program with the theme "Joy of Welcoming the New Year" expressing the joy of welcoming the new year of ethnic minorities, recreating the joyful atmosphere of the first day of the new year, exchanging, dancing, singing together; introducing some traditional cultural features of weaving of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands (Ta Oi, Ede, Ba Na), weaving art of Gia Rai, Co Tu...
The program “Regional delicacies - Welcome the New Year 2025” introducing “Solidarity Meal” to welcome the New Year 2025 is also one of the notable activities in December. Accordingly, each village has 1 ethnic group introducing the typical dishes of the ethnic group during the holidays and Tet. 16 ethnic groups will prepare 16 dishes with the traditional culinary culture of their ethnic group to introduce to visitors with the wish for a prosperous new year…

The representative of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village said that the activities were organized to introduce rituals, festivals, and customs imbued with the culture of early spring to visitors, helping visitors have the opportunity to understand more about the traditional cultural features of the ethnic groups; at the same time, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups, enhancing exchanges between ethnic groups, solidarity, cohesion, and mutual support for development at the beginning of the new year 2025.
