New experiences in Minh Chau

Minh Chau (Van Don) enters the 2025 summer tourism season with a vibrant appearance, promising to offer tourists a series of new experiences and unique and attractive tourism products.

According to the 2025 tourism development plan, Minh Chau commune aims to welcome approximately 220,000 visitors, with the majority concentrated from April to September. The locality has identified sustainable tourism development linked to the local service ecosystem and economy . Mr. Luu Minh Duc, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, said: "To successfully achieve this goal, Minh Chau is promoting the renewal of its appearance, creating new tourism products, and organizing vibrant activities to attract visitors."

The appearance of Minh Chau beach tourism has undergone many changes this year.

A notable highlight in Minh Chau's tourism landscape this summer is the expansion of its space and infrastructure. The pedestrian street in Ninh Hai village – considered the "heart" of community tourism – has been extended. In addition, the paved roads in Quang Trung and Nam Hai villages have been largely completed, forming a modern and convenient transportation network for sightseeing, shopping, and nighttime entertainment. Transportation infrastructure is not only a technical condition but also a foundation for the systematic and professional development of tourism.

Beyond just beach bathing and relaxation, Minh Chau in the summer of 2025 offers visitors a whole ecosystem of authentic local experiences, closely connected to nature and the community. In addition to day and night beach services, a series of eco-tourism tours such as digging for sea worms, squid fishing, clam raking, catching crabs, searching for snails, and night-time sea snail hunting right on Minh Chau beach are attracting considerable attention from tourists. This is an opportunity for visitors to not only enjoy nature but also directly experience the life of coastal fishermen, thereby enhancing tourism value and cultural connection.

Alongside the seafood offerings, visitors can also explore the 13-hectare heritage mangrove forest, home to over 150 ancient mangrove trees that were recognized as "Vietnamese Heritage Trees" in 2024. This lush, pristine green space is an ideal destination for nature lovers. A local cultural and culinary space is also established and maintained regularly every Saturday evening on the pedestrian street. Small, charming kiosks selling OCOP products and seafood specialties, along with a stage for folk music and traditional performing arts, contribute to infusing cultural life into every visitor's experience.

The pedestrian zone will be a vibrant venue for summer tourism activities and events.

Minh Chau currently has over 1,000 rooms across 54 establishments, capable of serving approximately 3,000 guests per day. Hotels meeting 2-3 star standards such as Paloma and Minh Chau Pearl, along with a system of modern guesthouses and homestays, have all been upgraded to meet the growing demands of tourists.

In addition, the locality focuses on improving the quality of food and beverage services. Many food establishments have received social investment, providing both convenience and showcasing local specialties. Most accommodation facilities offer on-site dining, and there are also a number of independent restaurants such as Thuy Chinh, Tam Nguyen, Cu Ky Quan, etc., contributing to meeting the diverse culinary needs of tourists.

The vibrant summer season in Minh Chau will officially kick off with the 2025 Summer Tourism Opening Ceremony, scheduled to take place on April 26th on the central pedestrian street of the commune. This event marks the beginning of a series of cultural, entertainment, and tourism activities throughout the summer, expected to attract a large number of tourists from within and outside the province. In 2024 alone, the pedestrian street hosted 27 activities and events, welcoming over 20,000 visitors. This year, with its new look, Minh Chau is aiming for an even higher number.

According to the 2025 Tourism Development Plan, Minh Chau aims to become a high-quality island and coastal tourism area, playing a driving role in promoting the socio-economic development of the locality. The focus is on developing distinctive products linked to local resources, building value chains linked with supporting services, effectively exploiting the domestic market, and expanding connections with Quan Lan and Bai Tu Long Bay. It is hoped that with these innovations, Minh Chau tourism will become an attractive destination with rich experiences in the summer of 2025.
