Minh Chau (Van Don) enters the 2025 summer tourist season with a new look, promising to bring visitors a series of new experiences and unique and attractive tourism products.
According to the tourism development plan for 2025, Minh Chau commune aims to welcome about 220,000 visitors, of which the majority will be concentrated from April to September. The locality has identified sustainable tourism development associated with the service ecosystem and local economy . Mr. Luu Minh Duc, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: "To successfully complete this goal, Minh Chau will promote innovation in appearance, renew tourism products and organize exciting activities to attract visitors."
The notable highlight in the Minh Chau tourism picture this summer is the expansion of space and infrastructure. The walking street of Ninh Hai village - considered the "heart" of community tourism activities, has been extended. Along with that, the asphalt roads in Quang Trung and Nam Hai villages have been basically completed, forming a modern landscape traffic network, convenient for sightseeing, shopping and night entertainment activities. Traffic infrastructure is not only a technical condition but also a foundation for methodical and professional tourism development.
Not only stopping at swimming and relaxing, Minh Chau Summer 2025 offers visitors a whole ecosystem of local experiences, closely connected with nature and the community. In addition to day and night beach services, a series of eco-tours such as digging for sea worms, squid fishing, clam raking, catching wind crabs, snail spotting, and xiep (hunting for sea snails at night) right on Minh Chau beach are attracting the attention of many tourists. This is an opportunity for visitors to not only enjoy nature but also directly experience the life of coastal fishermen, thereby enhancing tourism value and cultural connection.
Along with marine products, visitors can also explore the 13-hectare heritage myrtle forest, where there are more than 150 ancient myrtle trees that have been recognized as "Vietnam Heritage Trees" in 2024. This cool, pristine green space is an ideal destination for those who love nature. Local cultural and culinary spaces are also established and maintained periodically every Saturday evening on the walking street. Small, pretty kiosks selling OCOP products, island specialties, and traditional folk and art performances are contributing to "breathing life" into the culture in every step of visitors.
Minh Chau currently has more than 1,000 rooms in 54 establishments, capable of serving about 3,000 guests per day. 2-3 star hotels such as Paloma, Minh Chau Pearl and a system of modern motels and homestays have all been invested in and upgraded to meet the increasing demands of tourists.
Along with that, the locality focuses on improving the quality of food services. Many culinary spots have been invested in by the social sector, both providing convenience and introducing local specialties. Most accommodation establishments serve on-site dining, in addition to some independent restaurants such as Thuy Chinh, Tam Nguyen, Cu Ky Quan..., contributing to meeting the diverse culinary needs of tourists.
The vibrant summer in Minh Chau will officially kick off with the 2025 Summer Tourism Opening Program, scheduled to take place on April 26 on the central walking street of the commune. This is the opening event of a series of cultural, entertainment and tourism activities throughout the summer, expected to attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. In 2024 alone, the walking street organized 27 activities and events, welcoming more than 20,000 visitors. This year, with a new look, Minh Chau is aiming for a higher number.
According to the 2025 Tourism Development Plan, Minh Chau aims to become a high-quality island tourism area, playing a driving role in promoting local socio-economic development. The focus is on developing typical products associated with local resources, building value chains linked with ancillary services, effectively exploiting the domestic market and expanding connections with Quan Lan and Bai Tu Long Bay. Hopefully, with innovations, Minh Chau tourism will become an attractive destination, rich in experiences in the summer of 2025.
