The communication activity series "Spreading knowledge - Elevating the future" is implemented by the "Moving Forward" Project (FBF) with funding from the Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam.
According to the organizers, Hoa Binh province is located in a region with many volatile climates with severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, lightning, flash floods and landslides... If the local ethnic minority communities are equipped with knowledge, ways to react, adapt and protect themselves, it will help prevent and reduce the consequences caused by climate change.
The communication activities "Spreading knowledge - Enhancing the future" were held at 4 schools in 2 districts of Lac Son and Da Bac, Hoa Binh province. Activities such as propaganda on disaster risk reduction, golden bell contest, and painting with environmental themes attracted the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of students.
Media event on Disaster Risk Reduction - Climate Change Adaptation at Phu Luong Primary and Secondary School, Hoa Binh.
The representative of the Organizing Committee shared that the 3 prominent keywords throughout the event series are: Creativity - Action - Spread.
Students at the two schools divided into teams, came up with ideas and directly drew pictures with the theme of the environment.
The organizers hope to provide knowledge, instill in students a spirit of initiative, the ability to respond and love for the living environment. Communication activities encourage ethnic minority students to become inspirational people in the community - speaking up about the environment, natural disasters and a safe future. Through this, students begin to be more proactive in protecting nature, becoming proactive, creative and confident factors in conveying messages of change to the surrounding community.
