Unique sand paintings of a Da Nang boy

TPO – From the colored sand grains painstakingly collected from everywhere, with skillful hands, Mr. Phan Quang Dung (residing in Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city) has turned them into impressive and beautiful paintings.

With talent and passion, Mr. Phan Quang Dung (Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district) has created unique and beautiful sand paintings that attract many people to come and buy and experience.

In a small corner of the coffee shop, he displays beautiful sand paintings.

Mr. Dung said that he started his career in sand painting when he happened to watch a performance on television, then traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to explore and learn. “To pursue my passion, I gave up my job as a chef and traveled to the city to study. Although I encountered many difficulties, with my passion, I tried to learn the profession and have been doing it until now,” Mr. Dung shared.

According to Mr. Dung, to create perfect sand paintings is not easy, it requires perseverance, love and passion for art.

Attention to detail is needed to create a beautiful picture.

To have enough colored sand for painting, he had to travel more than 500km to the sand dunes in Phan Thiet to find and transport it to Da Nang for processing.

His paintings often feature themes of rural life, natural landscapes, and traditional images of his homeland.

Many children enjoy being taken by their parents to learn and experience making paintings.

The paintings he makes cost from 800,000 to 1,500,000 VND each. Prices vary depending on whether it is a portrait, landscape or countryside painting.

“I hope to pass on the sand painting craft to those who want to learn, so that more people will know about this unique art,” Mr. Dung shared.
