Hanging the national flag and taking a day off on Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30 and May 1

DTO - The Provincial People's Committee has just announced the hanging of the national flag and the holidays for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (10th day of the third lunar month), Victory Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1).

Accordingly, on Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (10th day of the 3rd lunar month), cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of state administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations and socio-political organizations will have 1 day off, April 18, 2024, Thursday.

The April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays will be swapped from Monday (April 29, 2024) to Saturday (May 4, 2024). Thus, on the April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays, 2024, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off, from Saturday (April 27, 2024) to Wednesday (May 1, 2024) and will work on Saturday (May 4, 2024) in lieu.

Agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange their departments to work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people; in which, pay attention to assigning civil servants and public employees to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur. Agencies and units that do not implement a fixed holiday schedule on Saturdays and Sundays every week must base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule, in accordance with the provisions of law.

Encourage employers at enterprises to apply the holiday time for Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024 for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees, but ensure full implementation of the regimes for employees according to the provisions of law, and encourage more favorable agreements for employees.

All agencies, units, organizations, offices, schools, hospitals, places of worship of religions and people's homes will fly the national flag on the occasion of Hung Kings' death anniversary from the afternoon of April 17 to the end of April 18, 2024; on Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, from the afternoon of April 29 to the end of May 1, 2024.

Heads of agencies, units, and chairmen of district and city People's Committees have plans to assign civil servants and public employees to be on duty during holidays and provide guidance on hanging the national flag in their management areas in accordance with regulations and ensuring solemnity.
