According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, preparations for the series of activities have been meticulous and thorough, from the publication summarizing 80 years of the industry's development to the two documentary films currently being finalized for screening in the exhibition space. "Everything has been carefully reviewed to ensure solemnity, completeness, and a clear reflection of the spirit and identity of the Agriculture and Environment sector in its journey alongside the nation," he said. “Preparations have been carried out with a high sense of responsibility, aiming to spread pride, inspire innovation, creativity, and a desire to contribute throughout the entire sector. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the press agencies for their companionship and timely information provision, contributing to encouraging the emulation movement and creating momentum for the entire sector to successfully complete its tasks in 2025 and look towards the 2026-2030 period,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability

Mr. Le Trong Dam, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, provided a detailed introduction to the series of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Agriculture and Environment Sector (1945–2025) and the First National Emulation Congress. According to him, this event has profound political and social significance, serving both as an opportunity to express gratitude to generations of cadres, civil servants, and workers who have contributed to the sector, and as a chance for the entire sector to inspire innovation and creativity in the new development phase – the phase of green transformation, ecological agriculture development, circular economy, and sustainable growth linked to environmental protection.

“With the motto Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability, the series of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an occasion to express gratitude and honor, but also a milestone opening a new phase of development - towards an ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, and modern rural areas, linked to the sustainable protection of resources and the environment,” Mr. Le Trong Dam shared.

He stated that the dissemination of information will be intensified through newspapers, television, and digital platforms, with many outstanding media products: the documentary film "80 Years of Vietnamese Agriculture and Environment"; a commemorative yearbook and exhibition space showcasing photos, books, and newspapers celebrating the 80th anniversary of the industry; special issues of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper and the Agriculture and Environment Magazine; and the 6th Agricultural and Rural Development Economic Journalism Award - 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese Agriculture and Environment Entering a New Era".

Competition - the driving force of development

Mr. Nguyen Xuan An, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, stated that over the past five years, the emulation and reward work of the sector has been implemented regularly and continuously, linked to key tasks such as building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, innovation, and digital transformation. Many specialized emulation movements have been launched extensively, becoming a direct driving force to promote agricultural restructuring, resource protection, and effective response to climate change.

During the period 2020-2025, the growth rate of added value across the entire sector reached 3.12% per year, exceeding the set target; the value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production increased by 3.52% per year. The sector was honored with many prestigious awards: 15 National Emulation Soldiers, 65 Government Emulation Flags, 4 Independence Orders, 379 Labor Orders, 606 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, and thousands of awards at the ministerial level.

On the occasion of its 80th anniversary, the sector was again awarded the First-Class Labor Medal, and 30 cooperatives, 24 farmers, 57 collectives, and 151 individuals were recognized as exemplary advanced models for the period 2020-2025. Mr. An emphasized that in the coming time, emulation work will be strongly reformed in the direction of closely linking it with political tasks, "encouraging innovation, digital transformation, focusing on grassroots movements, rewarding the right people for the right work," creating momentum for the entire sector to develop sustainably in the new phase.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, said that the exhibition celebrating 80 years of the industry will fully recreate the development journey of Vietnamese agriculture and environment through three pillars: crop production, livestock and aquaculture, and forestry, along with other areas of resources and environment. The exhibition space will feature participation from industry associations, corporations, and large enterprises, showcasing outstanding achievements, key national products, high-value export agricultural products, as well as honoring exemplary collectives and individuals, especially female entrepreneurs and scientists who have contributed to the industry.

"We aim for a space that is elegant and economical, yet reflects the spirit and identity of 80 years of the Agriculture and Environment sector – a journey closely linked to the country, its people, and the aspiration for sustainable development," Mr. Tien said.

The 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an opportunity to look back on the past, but also the beginning of a new phase of development – where tradition and innovation go hand in hand, aiming to build an ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, modern rural areas, and a sustainable environment.
