This is an important political and social event marking the eight-decade journey of construction, growth and dedication of the entire industry.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said that the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector were carried out methodically and thoughtfully, aiming to honor traditions and affirm the strategic role of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, resources and environment in the country's sustainable development.

The series of events will last from July to December 2025, focusing on the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, scheduled to be held on the morning of November 12, 2025 at the National Convention Center ( Hanoi ) with more than 1,200 delegates attending, including leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, former leaders of the Ministry, representatives of international organizations and advanced models in the whole sector.
On this occasion, the Ministry will organize an Exhibition of 80 years of achievements in the Agriculture and Environment sector, introducing outstanding milestones through each period, scientific and technological achievements and typical production models. Many other meaningful programs will also be held such as the Gala Dinner on the evening of November 11 at the Ministry's headquarters (No. 10 Ton That Thuyet, Hanoi); the "Return to the Source" program at the Ministry of Agriculture's relic site (Tuyen Quang); and the Ceremony of attaching a welcome plaque to the project at Phu Sa Pumping Station (Hanoi) and Tho Quang Fishing Port (Da Nang).
According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, preparations for the series of activities have been carried out meticulously, from the publication summarizing 80 years of industry development to two documentaries being completed for screening in the exhibition space. "Everything is carefully censored, ensuring solemnity, completeness and clearly demonstrating the spirit and identity of the Agriculture and Environment sector in its journey with the country," he said. The Ministry has also received many articles from Party and State leaders, Ministers and former Ministers, enriching the overall picture of eight decades of development.
“The preparations are being carried out with a high sense of responsibility, aiming to spread pride, arouse the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration for dedication throughout the industry. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the press agencies that have accompanied and provided timely information, contributing to promoting the emulation movement, creating motivation for the entire industry to successfully complete its tasks in 2025 and towards the 2026-2030 period,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability
Mr. Le Trong Dam, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, introduced in detail the series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Agriculture and Environment (1945-2025) and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress. According to him, this is an event of profound political and social significance, both an occasion to pay tribute to generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers who have contributed to the industry, and an opportunity for the entire industry to arouse the spirit of innovation and creativity in the new development stage - the stage of green transformation, development of ecological agriculture, circular economy and sustainable growth associated with environmental protection.
“With the motto of Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability, the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an occasion for gratitude and honor, but also a milestone opening a new development stage - towards an ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, modern countryside, associated with sustainable protection of resources and environment”, Mr. Le Trong Dam shared.
He said that propaganda work will be promoted on press, television and digital platforms, with many outstanding media products: documentary film "80 years of Vietnam's Agriculture and Environment"; Yearbook and exhibition space for photos, books and newspapers commemorating the 80th anniversary of the industry; special issues of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper and Agriculture and Environment Magazine; and the 6th Agricultural Economics and Rural Development Journalism Award - 2025 with the theme "Vietnam's Agriculture and Environment Entering a New Era".

“As the media agency of the Ministry, we look forward to continuing to receive the cooperation of press agencies, colleagues, partners and readers to further spread the values, achievements and aspirations of the Vietnamese Agriculture and Environment sector in its 80-year journey of pride and development,” said Mr. Dam.
Competition - the driving force of development
Mr. Nguyen Xuan An, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Organization, said that over the past 5 years, the emulation and reward work of the industry has been implemented regularly and continuously, associated with key tasks such as new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, innovation and digital transformation. Many thematic emulation movements have been widely launched, becoming a direct driving force to promote agricultural restructuring, resource protection and effective response to climate change.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the growth rate of added value of the whole industry reached 3.12%/year, exceeding the set target; the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production increased by 3.52%/year. The industry was honored to be awarded many noble awards: 15 National Emulation Fighters, 65 Emulation Flags of the Government, 4 Independence Medals, 379 Labor Medals, 606 Certificates of Merit of the Prime Minister and thousands of ministerial-level awards.
On the occasion of the 80th Anniversary, the industry continued to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal, and at the same time commended 30 cooperatives, 24 farmers, 57 collectives and 151 typical advanced individuals in the period 2020-2025. Mr. An emphasized that in the coming time, emulation work will be strongly innovated in the direction of closely linking with political tasks, "encouraging innovation, digital transformation, focusing on grassroots movements, rewarding the right people, the right work", creating motivation for the whole industry to develop sustainably in the new period.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, said that the 80-year exhibition will fully represent the development journey of Vietnam's agriculture and environment through three pillars: cultivation, livestock - aquaculture, forestry, and natural resources and environment. The exhibition space has the participation of industry associations, corporations and large enterprises, introducing outstanding achievements, national key products, high-value agricultural exports, as well as honoring typical collectives and individuals, especially female entrepreneurs and scientists who have contributed to the industry.
“We aim for a solemn and economical space that reflects the spirit and identity of 80 years of the Agriculture and Environment sector - a journey of attachment to the country, people and the aspiration for sustainable development,” said Mr. Tien.
The 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector is not only an occasion to look back on the past, but also the beginning of a new development phase - where tradition and innovation go hand in hand, towards the goal of building ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, modern countryside and a sustainable environment.
