The program currently attracts more than 600 applications. After three rounds of interviews and assessments on logical thinking, biology, computer science , and mathematics, the program has selected 25 outstanding students to participate in an intensive training course on bioinformatics.
Outstanding candidates selected to participate in BioTuring's bioinformatics training program
Bioinformatics is the application of mathematics, computer science, statistics, and computer science to solve biological problems. Questions in modern bioinformatics range from the molecular level, such as DNA sequence assembly, RNA and protein structure prediction (Nobel 2024), to the cellular and systems level, such as classifying 37 trillion cells, studying the tumor microenvironment, and cell-to-cell interactions.
Modern bioinformatics data, from billions of nucleotide genomes to trillions of cell-mediated gene interactions and regulation networks, are extremely large and complex. Computer science and mathematics are key to processing, analyzing, and mining information, solving biological questions, and opening up breakthroughs in medical research and applications.
Realizing that Vietnamese talent is a solid foundation for the development of the global bioinformatics industry, BioTuring, a pioneer in the field of algorithm development in bioinformatics, has committed to investing in building a talented successor team, contributing to shaping the world map of biological data science.
The teaching staff also includes Professor Pavel Pevzner from the University of California, San Diego (USA) - he is the one who laid the foundation for decoding the complex genomes of humans and other organisms.
" BioTuring's annual bioinformatics internship program is a gateway for young Vietnamese talents to enter the potential field of bioinformatics, where biology and computer science intersect. This is an opportunity to learn from leading experts, explore modern research directions, and orient their careers in an important scientific field, with many attractive job opportunities globally. The program is BioTuring's effort to develop and train bioinformatics for the young generation in Vietnam", Mr. Pham Kim Son, BioTuring's program advisor, said.
